Every Memorial Day Joe comes to mind. I met Joe at church and am glad I got to know him. I went away to college and Joe went into the military. My oldest child was born on December 15th, 2005 so I believe God gave me a permanent reminder of Joe. He is certainly loved as evidenced by the continued messages on this board and definitely not forgotten. God bless his family.

To the family of Spc. Joseph Lucas. Please know that our hearts and prayers are with you. Our son Pfc. Timothy J. Seamans, US Army, 1st Battalion 69th Armored Reg., CHARLIE Company, Ft. Stewart, GA was killed in action on August 18, 2005 in Samarra, Iraq when the HUMVEE he was driving struck an IED. Our life completely changed forever that day. I myself come from a proud military family having served 20 years in the US Navy retiring in 1995. My father served in WWII and brother served in Vietnam. My mothers five brothers served in the Army during WWII and the youngest was killed in action during the invasion of Normandy. The next time we are up at Ft. Stewart; we will look for Joe's tree and place a rose to honor and remember him. Each time we go up to Ft. Stewart the row of trees just keep on growing and it breaks my heart. How I came to know of Joe's passing is that I was reading today's Florida Times Union and they have an article about Charlie Baker, retired Army COL also a reporter who was with the 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry during Vietnam and it was deactivated shortly after. Then during the Iraq War it was reactivated and he was notified by its commander to follow the squadron there as an embedded reported. He got to know many of the men and a few months after he left that's when Joe was killed in action. He remembered attending at service at Ft. Stewart and it hit him hard and he broke down. I just wanted to share this with you. Our hearts and prayers are always with you as we now both walk this never ending journey together. God bless.

What an amazing job she did ! Well man I know it's been awhile and after my second deplyment to Iraq there isn,t a day that goes by that I don't toast you with a jim beam. Jay Gibbs gave me a memorial bracelet before I went and I took it with me on every mission. You are missed and there is always a beer or shot available for you when you want it.

Lucas, my heart goes out to all of you, I am sorry for your lose, I am SSG(ret.)Ducksworth, I was Lucas's, first line supervisor/squad leader for two years at Fort Stewart,Ga, i was in the Humvee with Spc Lucas, as the Truck Commander, on 15 Dec 2005, this was to be his last patrol, prior to coming home with the Advanced party, and i tell you, he was so excited to going home to see his family, wife and son, whom we often talked about, all the time, i was proud to have a soldier, like Lucas, he was the best, and proud to be serving his country, i often asked him how his day was going, and how he was doing, and he would always reply back, with a smile, Im
Good SSG.D, Im Good, I could always depend on Lucas, in my abscence, and when a task needed to be done, he always found a way, to complete, it, and to standard, i loved Lucas like a Son, and I miss him, Dearly, it seems like yesterday, we'd be riding on patrol, in our Humvee, and he would say something to make the whole crew, just break out laughing, he really kept our spirits up, and the rest of the crew in good standing, with each other, just wanted to share some of my experiences with his family, i was and still am honored to have had a chance to work with such a fine young man,friend,and Soldier, you are not forgotten, and i miss you much(Tough Guy!!!) and to his family, i wanted to wish you all, a Happy and Safe Holiday, and a Blessed New Year!

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Hey Joe! How is everything up there in Heaven? Well here... Everything is okay. Chris and I got married. We are expecting a baby now. We are hoping for a boy. We just moved to Tennessee. I still talk to Nikki. She and L.J. are doing good. L.J. and McKenzie are growing up real fast. They are going to be 3 soon. Can you believe it? I can't! I cant believe you have been gone for a year now. You are a hero always and forever. I will never forget the middle school dances. I am so glade you got in touch with me, amazing how things work out. Joey wrote to me shortly before he passed on. I think its very important you know all the wonderful things he had to say. First of all how proud he was of you Heather, and L.J the mom and wife you are. Also how proud he was of himself. He told me how you were going back to school and so forth and all about l.j. He was one happy father and husband.
I am so sorry for your loss, I think about you two often (even though i have never met you)you are in my heart and prayer. I went to school with Joey in Maine up until he moved. What a great person, such a wonderful sense of humor.

Hey Joe, I still miss you and love you very much, the 15th was hard but you knew that cause i know you were there in our hearts and spirit. Some things are hard but all you need to know is that your son is well takin care of and knew excatly who his daddy was on that shirt he wore. Well Yankee, it's hard to believe you have been gone a year already.We still love and miss you VERY much.I know your up there with alot of people who love you to, but it still hurts like hell to know we can't see you and tell you face to face how much we love you, but deep in our hearts we know that you know.Don't worry about L.J. you know we will never let anything happen to him and he will know how much of a true hero you are.There are alot of things not right here but things will get better.We Love you and will see you again one day.Until then keep making everyone up there smile as you did here.God new what he was doing when he took a great man like you.We know your son will be just like you, he already is he makes us laugh everytime he is here; not to mention he is the spitting image of you.

I am Deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Spc. Joseph A. Lucas, one year ago today.
