Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Stuart M. Anderson US Army Major.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

To the family of Maj. Stuart M. Anderson:
The Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel Foundation will be honoring your loved one at the non-denominational Christian Memorial Day Remembrance worship service at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, 26 May 2013. We will remember the casualties of the Global War on Terrorism from Minnesota … and the bordering states of Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Outside of the historic Fort Snelling Veterans Memorial Chapel will be a “Memorial Garden” filled with some 300 white crosses bearing the names of the war dead … including your loved one.
The Memorial Garden will be encircled with larger white crosses representing all of the wars of our nation's history and give honor to all who have served in the United States Armed Forces and made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today. Wreaths will be placed at the foot of each 8-foot cross bearing the number of U.S. Service Members killed in each of America's conflicts.
I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship as we pay tribute to the sacrifice made by your service member and family. Our pastor, Kenneth L. Beale, Jr., will preach a message entitled, “Freedom:Free, but Costly.” At the conclusion of the worship hour, all of the congregation will be invited to silently pay their respects at the garden and there place poppies at each of the crosses. A Memorial Rifle Squad of the Fort Snelling National Cemetery will fire vollies as the US flag is lowered to half-staff and Taps is played. Following your visit to the Memorial Garden, your family is invited to attend an informal reception (weather permitting) outside of the Chapel. The Memorial Garden will remain until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 27 May (Memorial Day).
As this Christian worship service has traditionally been well attended, we would be happy to reserve seating for you and yours. To do so, kindly call (651/286-7296) and leave a voice message indicating your veterans' name and the number of persons attending. For more information about the Foundation or driving directions to the historic chapel at Fort Snelling, visit our website at: www.fortsnellingmcf.org Special rates for nearby hotels will be available. For more information call (651/286-7296) or email the office ([email protected]) and leave your name and contact information.
Also, beginning at dusk (8:30 p.m.) on Saturday 25 May through dawn (6:30 a.m.) on Sunday, 26 May, a “Prayer Vigil for Peace” will be held in the sanctuary of the Chapel. You are invited to stop by, light a candle and place it at the foot of your loved one's cross in the Memorial Garden … and then enter the Chapel for prayer.
If you are not able to attend, we pray that you would find comfort in knowing that our prayers are with you and all of the fallen heroes.

Tell a soldier you appreciate their sacrifice...tell a mother you are thinking of her son...tell any family member you are thinking of their soldier that is defending our country. We are 2 seniors graduating with Stuart's daughter, one of us being a great friend to her, and the other being her boyfriend. We both take care of her as much as possible. We wanted to take a moment out of our day to remember the person who most influenced us throughout our high school years, and will most likely continue to influence our decisions for the rest of our lives. Stuart Anderson, a great father, husband, friend, citizen, and many other things, is no longer present physically, but will remain in our hearts for as long as we live.

In Memory of Stuart ~ (Debra Estep)
January 8, 2009
Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Stuart, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

My condolences go out to everyone that this man/soldier touched.
I am the daughter of a deceased soldier and I have started a new mission. A large majority of those soldiers giving their lives in Iraq are young. There are few that have families with children. Even fewer are those with older children, especially those over 18 years old.
I am 23 years old, lost my Dad when I was nearly 22. I would really like to reach out to other children of deceased soldiers. Although I wont discriminate based on age (I am willing to talk to anybody about their experience) I am especially interested in those children who are dealing with adult life and the loss of a Father/Mother.
PLEASE contact me if you are interested in talking back and forth. I think we can offer each other some healing, support, etc.

My condolences to the family of Major Anderson.
I was in Tal Afar 2005-06. I saw Maj. Anderson's picture after his passing. He looked familiar to me. I may have seen him in the chow hall... or in Mosul... God only knows for sure. I remember the night we lost that aircraft. I won't forget the brave souls that have paid the ultimate price for a freedom that is not free.
God Bless and Thank You Major Anderson.

A Tribute to those who served and died
In time of War,
they heeded the call
They took up arms
"Freedom For All"
They went to serve
in a far away land
In battles they fought,
they took a stand
In honor of Country, their duty they performed
For those who died, our Country sadly mourned
There were many who fell and gave their lives
Leaving behind children, mothers, fathers and wives
They fought the fight to "Let Freedom Ring"
In honor of that, their praises we sing
To those who died, we salute you all
And give our thanks for heeding the call
Thank You for your service and my deepest sympathy to Tori, Keely, and Kirsten Anderson.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Dear Major,
This is Kari. If you remember me, that is (haha). I have to say sir, that after you passed, well, for awhile things seemed to fall apart. No one really knew what to do or say. I'll always remember the day we heard the announcement. I was so shocked I couldn't do anything but say, oh my God in my mind. After you passed, I found a lot of comfort in my writing. In fact, around the time you died, we were doing a poetry portfolio. Most of my poems were dedicated to you. I found that portfolio, and I plan on displaying it at my graduation. And let me just say, sir, that your passing put things in perspective for me. I always thought I knew just how much the soldiers risk when they go off for war, but I realized I don't. I don't have a clue. That's why I'd like to say, thank you sir. I just turned 16, just got my license, and I'll always remember that you helped protect my privilege to get my license. Also, we're all doing fine. Now, as we inch closer and closer to graduating, we are realizing how to value each other's presence. I think of Keely and Kirsten as family. We spoil Keely, hoping to make up for the loss, but nothing can replace you and she knows that. But I think each and every day she wakes up, she thinks of you. She'll always miss you, but she's got us, her friends, behind her. You should see her. Despite her loss, she is still her peppy self. At your wake, Morgan and Cody rode on shopping carts at Wal-Mart's parking lot at 7:00 at night. We laughed and cracked jokes and almost thought we'd get in trouble with your mom for it, at which point we immediately stopped. Then she told us to keep laughing because it was what you'd want. Amidst the tears, we laughed. And if I could just ask one favor sir. DJ Willenbring and Brittany Clemen were killed in a car accident on your birthday. You probably know that already. But I was just wondering if you'd take care of them. Thanks. We'll miss you, always and forever.
Love,
Kari
p.s. Cody says that my palm shows I've been avoiding death my whole life, so maybe you could keep an eye on me. I want to be able to fly a plane someday and I need myself in one piece. Thanks!!

It's been about 18 months now. Every time I look down at the black remembrance bracelet on my arm or I hear about another soldier gone, I remember Stu's smile and kind heart. My prayers are with you and your daughters. Remember, he is not forgotten by those who served with him. He occupies a fond place in all our hearts and memories. God bless you all.

"MAJ Anderson, Sir, Stuart,
Wow, how I wish I could call you that right now and get a response. Sir, you truly were a work of art. A work of art with a heart of love and peace. I was on your team in Mosul, Courage. "DMT6" You were suppose to met us in QWest. We waited for you at the airfield that night. Then the news. We were so hurt. It hurted. It really did. All I think about is getting into the office in the mornings and who would be there to greet me? Maj Anderson. It would never start with work though. Always with a personal conversation. Even though I knew what was coming next, you would be able to calm things before you told me what you needed. I remember you so dearly and well. I even tried to come in without you knowing but you just knew when I did. No way of getting around you. How I wish I could still try to sneak in without you knowing now. You would come over and talk, talk, and talk. I read what your father said, "You loved to talk." You made things so easy. We would talk about everything and just from the conversations, it told me what kind of guy you were. A family oriented, father, Dad, friend, leader, and dedicated soldier. Me and SFC Ramon started talking about the movie "History of the World Part I" and were saying a line wrong. You came over to us and said the correct line. You knew the whole movie. I was suppose to get the movie from you. I had my wife buy it. Joe and I watched it together. All we thought about was you. Wishing you were there to watch it with us. You always helped me out by doing things for me and when I would get done with something you would say, "I already took care of that." I remember you getting ready to do physical training. Always out of regulation with the stripes on your sock,Unauthorized, and you music wrapped around your waist, Unauthorized. No one ever told you not to do it. You just looked so happy and were living life. Maj Anderson, Thanks. It has been a long time since I even talked about you because it hurts. I think about you very often. I had to fly to different places after your passing. I was afraid. I would pray and then think about you. I knew you were still there for me. You told me the first time, " It'll be fine." That is what I think about now. Fine. God's will, will be done. He has a good one. He has a Great One. I just thank him for allowing you to be part of the dash in my life. Your family lost a wonderful man but God gained a Greater Leader. Sir, Rest in Peace."

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

I am Deeply Saddened to learn of the loss of Maj. Stuart M. Anderson, one year ago today.
The price this Soldier and his family have paid for this country and for freedom, Will Never Be Forgotten.
May Maj. Anderson rest safely in the Loving Care of God and may the Peace of the Lord be with the Anderson family.
There will never be enough ways to humbly thank these heroes for their Supreme Sacrifice, my brother among them. KIA~Vietnam, 1967.
"Cast thy burden upon the Lord,
and He shall sustain thee."
~ Psalm 55:22 ~
May the Peace of God and your memories of Stuart,
remain in your heart always.

To the family of Maj. Stuart M. Anderson:
The Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel Foundation will be honoring your loved one at the non-denominational Memorial Day Sunday worship service at 11:00 a.m. on 28 May, 2006. We will remember the casualties of the Global War on Terrorism from Minnesota … and the neighboring states of Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Outside of the historic Fort Snelling Veterans Memorial Chapel will be a “Memorial Garden” filled with white crosses bearing the names of the war dead … including your loved one.
I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship as we pay tribute to the sacrifice made by your service member and family. Our pastor, U.S. Army Chaplain, LTC Kenneth L. Beale, Jr. will preach a message entitled “What Are We to Remember?” At the conclusion of the worship hour, all of the congregation will be invited to silently pay their respects at the garden and place poppies at each of the crosses. An honor guard squad will be on hand to fire vollies as the US flag is lowered to half-staff and Taps is played.
As this Christian worship service has traditionally been well attended, we would be happy to reserve seating for you and yours. To do so, kindly call (612/970-7866) and leave a voice message indicating your veterans’ name and the number of persons attending. If you are not able to attend, we pray that you would find comfort in knowing that our prayers are with you and all of the fallen heroes.
Respectfully,
Leila Campbell

I lived across the street from Stuart's family in the early 1970s. We would play baseball and "army" nearly every day with Stuart and his older brother in nearby woods and marshes. We lost touch with Stuart and family after they moved, but I always felt Stuart would become the soldier we pretended to be. I am so saddened by his loss, but I honor his service to his God, family and country. May all of you on this site who have also suffered loss also find God's peace.
I pray:
Prayer for Trust
My God,
give me trust in you,
and take away my fears.
Let me see
beyond this time and place
to the promises you have made,
the hope you hold for me,
the feast of life you wish to share.
Protect me
in my weakness,
strengthen me
in body and soul.
Your ears hear my cries,
your heart opens to my pleas.
You are my God,
and will never abandon me.
Amen.

Dear Family and Friends,
Your loss is a great loss to America and all who fight for our freedom. Thank you for giving up so much to protect America and the freedom we all cherish. Thank you for giving a future to the people and country your loved one served in and letting them know what freedom is all about. It isn't free.
Your whole family has sacrificed their future and the pain of separation for others. May God bless you in the future with health, happiness and time together to celebrate the life, love and freedom your loved one so deeply believed all should enjoy. May God's comfort be abundant in your lives.
Stuart was and is a National treasure and a Hero we can all be proud of. May God bless him with eternal life in his kingdom today and always.

renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Major Stuart M. Anderson - HERO LOST. You will not be forgotten. I mourn your loss along with your family and as I also mourn the loss of my own. May God Grant your family peace and strength to get through this and to a place where a memory once again brings a smile rather than the tears that flow so easily now. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you all....
Rest in Peace Major.

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!
