I'll never forget you Lil brother. You always brought a smile to my face. I remember those giant bell bottom pants and the chain from your wallet swinging around while you were dancing before the Lord. I think of you playing the drums with all of your heart. I also think about our first mission trip to Jamaica and you playing cops and robbers with the younger kids. You were the cool older brother to many. I honor you more than any will know. Veteran to veteran you have your life for what you believed in. Until we meet again. I salute you

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Kemple Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one, Andrew J. Kemple US Army Corporal. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

To the family of Cpl. Andrew J. Kemple:

As you may know, the Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel Foundation has honored your loved one at its Memorial Day Sunday worship service (each year in May) … since the time of your fallen hero's ultimate sacrifice. We will continue to pay tribute to our nation's veterans … lest we ever forget!

Now we would like to honor you … as the next-of-kin … who have also paid a great price on the altar of liberty. On Sunday 29 September at 11:00 a.m. we will host a Gold Star Family Sunday.

I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship … as we pay tribute to your sacrifice. Our pastor, U.S. Army Chaplain (Colonel-Retired) Kenneth L. Beale, Jr., will preach a message entitled, “By Dying, We Live.” The special music will be the husband/wife vocal/piano — Wickman Duo. Following the worship experience, your family is invited to attend a social time in our Fellowship Hall … with some light refreshments.

As this historic chapel has limited seating, we would be happy to reserve seating for you and yours. To do so, kindly call (651/286-7296) and leave a voice message indicating your veterans' name and the number of persons attending. For more information about the Foundation or driving directions to the historic chapel at Fort Snelling, visit our website at: www.fortsnellingmcf.org

If you are not able to attend, we pray that you would find comfort in knowing that our prayers are with you and all of the fallen heroes.

Respectfully,

To the family of Cpl. Andrew J. Kemple:
The Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel Foundation will be honoring your loved one at the non-denominational Christian Memorial Day Remembrance worship service at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, 26 May 2013. We will remember the casualties of the Global War on Terrorism from Minnesota … and the bordering states of Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Outside of the historic Fort Snelling Veterans Memorial Chapel will be a “Memorial Garden” filled with some 300 white crosses bearing the names of the war dead … including your loved one.

The Memorial Garden will be encircled with larger white crosses representing all of the wars of our nation's history and give honor to all who have served in the United States Armed Forces and made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today. Wreaths will be placed at the foot of each 8-foot cross bearing the number of U.S. Service Members killed in each of America's conflicts.

I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship as we pay tribute to the sacrifice made by your service member and family. Our pastor, Kenneth L. Beale, Jr., will preach a message entitled, “Freedom:Free, but Costly.” At the conclusion of the worship hour, all of the congregation will be invited to silently pay their respects at the garden and there place poppies at each of the crosses. A Memorial Rifle Squad of the Fort Snelling National Cemetery will fire vollies as the US flag is lowered to half-staff and Taps is played. Following your visit to the Memorial Garden, your family is invited to attend an informal reception (weather permitting) outside of the Chapel. The Memorial Garden will remain until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 27 May (Memorial Day).

As this Christian worship service has traditionally been well attended, we would be happy to reserve seating for you and yours. To do so, kindly call (651/286-7296) and leave a voice message indicating your veterans' name and the number of persons attending. For more information about the Foundation or driving directions to the historic chapel at Fort Snelling, visit our website at: www.fortsnellingmcf.org Special rates for nearby hotels will be available. For more information call (651/286-7296) or email the office ([email protected]) and leave your name and contact information.

Also, beginning at dusk (8:30 p.m.) on Saturday 25 May through dawn (6:30 a.m.) on Sunday, 26 May, a “Prayer Vigil for Peace” will be held in the sanctuary of the Chapel. You are invited to stop by, light a candle and place it at the foot of your loved one's cross in the Memorial Garden … and then enter the Chapel for prayer.

If you are not able to attend, we pray that you would find comfort in knowing that our prayers are with you and all of the fallen heroes.

Dear Andrew
I woke up this morning and my first thought was of you. It's going on 7 years and you're still very much alive in my heart. I still remember the Christmas where you didn't go home for the holidays so David and I welcomed you in our home with Wayne Malick. We drank, ate, and watched The Nightmare Before Christmas. I remember times in the middle of the night you'd call and ask us to pick you up. I remember the day you left for Iraq. As I hugged you and asked you to make sure David and you come home safe. I remember you saying.... Make sure the ice chest is full and a pack of cigarettes. I remember February 13, 2006 so well. I was at home and I got a phone call from David saying you weren't coming home. I got so mad at him for joking like that. I was in denial for quite some time. I wish you were here. Not a day goes by where you're forgotten. Rest in peace Sweet Andrew. I love you an I miss you so much!

I found this Christmas picture of our great American hero and it is getting close to Christmas, so decided to post it for all to share. While I was putting on photos, just decided to add a few that were on my computer as these were taken on July 4, 2005 on the lake at Walker, MN with some of Andrew's other family as he had many different families. This family misses him very much and I am sure all of his other families do too.

I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship as we pay tribute to the sacrifice made by your service member and family. Our pastor, U.S. Army Chaplain, LTC Kenneth L. Beale, Jr. will preach a message entitled “The Price of Freedom” At the conclusion of the worship hour, all of the congregation will be invited to silently pay their respects at the garden and place poppies at each of the crosses. An honor guard squad will be on hand to fire vollies as the US flag is lowered to half-staff and Taps is played.

As this Christian worship service has traditionally been well attended, we would be happy to reserve seating for you and yours. To do so, kindly call (612/970-7866) and leave a voice message indicating your veterans’ name and the number of persons attending. For more information about the Foundation or driving directions to the historic chapel at Fort Snelling, visit our website at: www.fortsnellingmcf.org

Also, beginning at dusk (8:30 p.m.) on Sat. 24 May through dawn (6:30 a.m.) on Sun. 25 May, a “PrayerVigil for Peace” will be held. You are invited to stop by and light a candle and place it at the foot of your loved one’s cross in the Memorial Garden, then enter the Chapel for prayer.

If you are not able to attend, we pray that you would find comfort in knowing that our prayers are with you and all of the fallen heroes.

Respectfully,

I love you Drew and will until the end of time. I still am not ok with this. I cry often and such a hard time moving on. Always, over and over in my head since the day you went the song "What hurts the most" from Rascal Flatts goes on. We were so close and loved each other so much, it is all over and burns as if it is a new wound. Adam has been so wonderful to me, he is always there. I miss you so much. I can't wait to see you again. I love you.

We apologize for being late with this post, we did not know this website existed until resently. God Bless Legacy.com for this means to honor our heros.

We can't imagine what you have been going through since being notified of the death of your young Warrior. The Military and families all over the USA and world are grieving with you and praying for you. What a very brave individual you have in your family that would give up a life for their homeland and its people so they can remain free. Your Freedom Fighter has served the Country above and beyond the call of duty, let no one ever tell you different. With the mission now completed your Warrior has been redeployed to Heaven to sit on the right hand of the Supreme Commander and Chief. The Father above has Andrew in his arms and will give him peace as well as eventually easing your pain and suffering. God speed to you and Cpl. Andrew J. Kemple, our HERO. We are so proud of them that are willing to sacrifice for this great Nation, THANK YOU.

well its been a year now.. although he is gone he will never be forgotten. how sad to lose such a bright sparkling young man who had so much life yet to live. He gave the ultimate sacrifice doing what he wanted to be doing as we all know..and although i am thankful for all our soldiers, it makes me incredibly sad about losing Drew and all the others soldiers being lost in Iraq.
Here in my home Drew is brought up almost everyday. We will all miss him forever until we meet again..
Love you and miss you with all my heart Drew... and may peace be with you Andrea, Dee and John.. and to everyone else who is still missing Drew like we are...

Well it's coming in on a year since Drew left. It seems like yesterday that Stephanie (his girlfriend) called me and told me the horrible news. We miss him so much, words can't ever say. I just think what Drew said before he left for Iraq, he had to come home first before he got engagged to Stephanie, and thinking about what would have been just hurts so much, I knew how much he meant to her and you could just look at his face and see how much she and her daughter meant to him. We will be visiting Drew soon and we will never forget what he gave to our country. We miss you Drew!

I want you all to know what a wonderful man you have as a son. When he left for the service he told me he had to go become a man and he made me cry. My two kids wrote letters to drew and I gave them to you at the funeral. They both think of him as their hero and do I. We will be going to his grave site in a few days to visit with him as we plan to do each year. God bless your family and know that drew will forever live on in our lives!
