Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Colnot Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Kyle A. Colnot US Army Sergeant. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers ([email protected]) is an organization with groups throughout the country who strive to send handmade prayer shawls and/ or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA would like to honor your son’s sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a shawl which we will mail to you. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] with the names and addresses and what they would like to receive. We will send them as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address, as our organization can no longer get family contacts through the military. “I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

We would like to thank Kyle and his family for his dedicated service and heroism in the United States Army. Where there is a soldier there is a family who stands behind him. They may not agree with his choices in life but they have raised a man who seeks to do his duty. This says a lot about a family and the way they have raised their children. We are so sorry for your loss. We too have lost a soldier. Spec. Nicholas P. Brown was KIA in Iraq to an IED in January 2007. He is listed on the website that Kyle's family started. We are thankful for this site and we are sorry that it took the death of a fine man to bring it about. We feel a mix of pride and pain. Because of you folks we can honor our fallen soldier. Thank you,

Dear Colnot Family,
Thought I did not know your dear young hero, his loss is felt by me and my family. As an Army wife myself, I know how hard it is to send a loved one into harm's way but I have been lucky, that mine has returned to me. I can't imagine how much pain you must feel and I wish I had words to make it less or to return him to life, but I cannot, of course, or I would! But I can tell you how much it means to me, that this young hero will be remembered, how grateful I am for his selfless service, for his bravery and his strength...That I am proud of him, that his life was a gift of love to not only his family but to all of us, and I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart. I see in his young face so much hope, so much love, and tears fill my eyes when I think that he is no longer here on this earth. I have no doubts that he is in a better place, that he is a light for you, and an Angel on your shoulder. Though his life may have been brief, it was meaningful, even to those who did not know him. It is a sign of a true hero, leaving a mark on the world around him, leaving it less bright because he is no longer a part of it, and this young hero does just that. Thank you for him, his service and his selflessness. He will be remembered. Always.

To the Colnot Family:
I'm deeply sorry for this loss you have faced. SGT Colnot first came to 2-35 INF CACTI as a young private wanting to be the best he could be. He was an outstanding Soldier in so many ways. His tattoos showed his personality and his genuine concern was given to all Soldiers within his realm. I enjoyed everday of service with Kyle because he gave me inspirations to be a better leader. I wish all Soldiers were gifted like Kyle. I enjoyed the 10 mile runs with him up Kole Kole pass, and the Aloha perimeter challenge we both participated in which was 144 miles. His spirit will be greatly missed, but I know that he will never be forgotten.

Dear Colnot Family,
I am sorry to hear of Kyle's death, but I wish to express my gratitude for his efforts in the Army. To the Colnot family, I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. I was his Company Commander in Afghanistan and have fond memories of him and our time together. Some of the strongest memories I have deal with exactly the type of man he was; not only a dedicated combat leader and Soldier, but a caring, compassionate human being as well. One who could always be counted on to be out there getting the mission accomplished while taking care of his men, but with the enviable ability to always put things in perspective and bring joy to those around him despite the circumstances. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

My deepest sympathy to the Colnot family,
No words of mine can even begin to soothe the pain of your family's loss. Colnot and I served in Afghanistan together. To the family he left behind,
My heart and deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. SGT Colnot was a member of my platoon in Afghanistan. He spoke of his sister often and I know that you two shared a special bond. I know that no words can replace him but know that he was a very special Soldier, Man, Brother, and friend to many. I hope that these words express my feeling towards you and the lost of a very special person.

To the Colnot Family:
My deep sympathy comes to you from a heavy heart. Every lost soldier is one too many, and Kyle is no exception. However, I feel a special pain in my heart when a warrior who supports AnySoldier is lost to the war. I am sure from reading his sister’s letter that Kyle was a fine man and will be sorely missed. I am proud of him for his many sacrifices on our behalf, the greatest being his final gift to us all.
May God bless you as you carry on and once again enjoy the freedoms which he and his teammates helped to provide and protect.

To the Family of Sgt. Kyle A. Colnot:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05.
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort. When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
