Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Wolfe Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one, Colin J. Wolfe US Marine Lance Corporal. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

My name is Colin Norris. I am a student at Winfield City High School in Winfield Alabama. My teacher is having us write to the family of fallen loved ones and Colin's stuck out to me because we share the same first name. A little bit about myself: I love football, I love to fish, and after I graduate high schol I plan on going to become a pharmacist. I want you to know how thankful I am for people like Colin Wolfe, who are willing to lay down their lives in order for me to do the things I love. We can never repay you for your loss, but i just wanted to express my gratitude. If you would like to respond to this letter, please feel free to email at [email protected]. Thankyou and God Bless

Colin,
I've known you since you were 13. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I know you are watching down on us, and taking care of us. I miss you with all my heart. Cece has grown into a beautiful young lady. If only you could see. Thank you for giving all that you had. You were passionate about doing what you thought was right. I wish you were here, but I know that is selfish. May you rest in peace and people never forget the ultimate sacrifice you gave, you life, for us. I will always remember you. You were my best friend. I love you.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Colin, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

I am signing this Guest Book because Colin is resting by my son-in-law in Arlington National Cemetery. They are attended by soldiers of every war and even Presidents. Colin stands as a hero in the highest traditions of the United States Marine Corps. As the son of a Marine D.I. I know how tough Marines need to be. My dad is an invalid now but was motivated by his Marine Corps training. Colin stands as a giant among men. I'm sure Iraq will go down with such places as Belleau Wood and Guadalcanal among others. Please accept our prayers and sympathy during these hard times. Spec. Nicholas Brown was KIA 1-22-2007 in Iraq. He was in 1st Cavalry Division.

“Paid in Full”
To Honor The Service of Fallen and Injured Marines
Marines through and through, they paid the price
Six thousand miles away, we live the life
For which they paid with their blood, spirits and bodies
We will never forget what they paid in full
We hope and we pray that somehow their loved ones find comfort
In God, in the flag, in the memory of their loved ones’ bravery
They’re gone now but we see them still…proud, strong, willing
Covering each other’s backs… courageous, moving forward
What kind of love did they have for us to be willing
To give it all for the Black, White, Jew, Christian, Muslim?
We don’t comprehend but we honor you now and forever
You are Our Marines…some living…some not
Forever in our hearts we will cherish your lives
Lives too short yet immortal they’ll be
Highest brotherhood of the Few, the Proud
They stand at attention, and we gaze with awe
Some know their names not, but our admiration for them
Flows limitless within us, between us
They sacrificed their limbs or their lives
Freedom still rings, a soft sound across the miles
It tolls slowly; all of creation takes note
Of the lives that were lost for people unknown
Out of sight but not lost; forever among us
The starched blues marching straight
Toward the place where we will meet them
Many years from now…how we loved them…
Well done beloved Brothers and Sisters…You’ve paid it in full
Always Faithful Marines, You Have Paid it in Full

On October 18 I made an entry regarding a fund raising effort to honor Colin, his family, and his grandparents from Amarillo, Texas, Bill and Dorothy Wolfe.
The results achieved in one month are that $20,750 will be given to our TPBA scholarship fund at West Texas A&M University in Colin's name.
Please do not forget the sacrifice that this young man has made to protect our freedoms that we so easily take for granted.

Words of Encouragement from a mom, whose son was killed in Afganistan on june 3 2005. First, I want you to know God works in mysterious ways, today while reading my email, I received notification that someone had sign my son's guest book and upon reading that and went back to the home page and it was upon researching from the home page that I came across your son's name. When I heard about your son, I wanted to get in contact with you, however, I did not due to still personal struggles of losing a love one. I felt bad, because I believe God wants us to help others go through the difficult times in their lives. I can truly say, I know how it feels to lose a child, but I also can say God will get you through moment by moment, minute by minute, day by day, etc. My faith in Jesus has given me the strength to face my tomorrow. Know that I will be praying for you and your family. Know that I am here for you and your family. We can get through this together.

Bill Wolfe, Colin's grandfather, and I are friends and see each other frequently through our association in the Texas Panhandle Builders Association. Bill is a long-time excellent home builder and highly respected member of this group. I was very moved to hear of Colin's sacrifice for our freedom as Americans and offer my heartfelt condolences to the Wolfe family in Manassas as I have to Bill Wolfe in Amarillo. Having lost four of my young men in Vietnam during my tour as a platoon leader with Charlie Rangers C75Inf(ABN)(RGR) in 1969 and 1970, I can only feel the pain of loss with you and pray that God will comfort you now and during the years to come. Never forget the brave sacrifice your son and brother made for all of us, but stand tall with pride along with this unknown to you old soldier from Texas. I've known Colin for about 6 years. We met years ago when we went to the same sleep away camp. He was a great friend, he always made us laugh, and helped out anyone in need. We stayed in touch after camp ended and hung out on numerous occasions. I saw him a few days before he left... i was worried for him, but he was ready. I remember him walking out my front door telling me not to worry because nothing was going to bring him down. And nothing has because he is a true hero and he is in God's hands now. Colin i miss you! To his family, Mark, Amy and Cece you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Wolfe Family,
I'm not sure if you remember me. I came over a few times to watch a movie with colin. And the majority of movies we watched had to do with War. The day after he came back from France he was so excited to show me his disc of pictures. He was the most dedicated person i have known, and i have always admired his passion and determination. I knew colin for a little over two years. He really was a true friend to me, and always will be. I always remembered him as such a charmer in high school. His smile alone could melt your heart. I had the honor of being his date for prom. He was sucha gentleman, and a pleasure to know. He has touched so many. God Bless

To the Family of Lance Cpl. Colin J. Wolfe:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday.
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is those wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.

My name is Lcpl Bietsch. You probably don't know me, but you saw me on September 11, 2006. I was at Colin's funeral, as I was one of the seven marines who pulled the 21 gun salute in honor of Colin. I just wanted to say, from the countless number of funerals I've done at Arlington, Colin's will forever remain in my mind as to how amazing it was. Not only with the shear number of people who attended, but with the honor there was from the procession, to the final note in taps. I'm very proud to have been a apart of Colin's celebration of life and I hope you always take pride in knowing that Colin is and forever will be a UNITED STATES MARINE! Semper Fidelis

May God comfort you in your time of need and sadness and may you take take comfort in knowing that your son's inspirational story has touched many lives. We thank Colin for his service and sacrifice.

The Wolfe family,
I worked with Colin for a few short months at Koons a few summers ago where I found him to be one of the most genuine, caring, and humorous friend that Ive ever met. We got to be good friends while working there every afternoon and I remember when he was first talking of going into the Marines and how proud we all were of it. Colin was truely an amazing individual and will always be remembered by myself and my family as a brother who fought for our well-being and our freedom. I thank him for this more than he could ever know and I send my condolences to you in your time of grief. I wish i could have gotten to know Colin just a little better.

My son Kevin worked with Colin at Koons. He is heartbroken over your loss, he and Colin were good friends and spoke over the phone. I found your son to be friendly and so funny when I saw him at work. I cannot believe this has happened and I am so sorry for your family. Your son gave bravely for our country and our freedom and for that he is certainly a hero. Vicky and Kevin Hopkins

To Colin's family and friends-
My family and I are praying for you and your family during this difficult time. We send our deepest empathy as we lost our Marine on 11/30/05 in Fallujah. We are comforted to know that our Marines are serving their country with such honor and bravery. We are so proud of our Marines and all of our other service men and women for all that they have done and continue to do to keep us safe and to give us the freedom we have that so many take for granted.
They are true Heroes and need to always be remembered for their selflessness and sacrifice to better our world. We will forever be united in the loss of our heros. We are so sorry for your loss and hope our words will ease some of the pain, and maybe fill some of your emptiness.
Yesterday, Today, Forever – Semper Fi - Marines!
Our sincerest gratitude for their bravery-

Dear Wolfe Family,
Even though we have never met I feel as if we are a part of a "family". My daughter's fiancee was killed in Iraq by an IED on Oct. 3, 2005. It is my prayer that you will feel God holding as close to His heart as He has held my family these past months. May you feel His peace and comfort as you face the difficult days ahead.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your entire family. I had the pleasure of experiencing Colins' charm and wit on many occasions when he was at our home visiting our son Brian (O) and always thought he was a remarkable young man. He was very close to Brian and I am so glad they had time together when he was home on leave. I have thought a great deal about Colin this past week, his frienship with my son and the memories of them together but mostly about when he sat in my kitchen one evening and told me he joined the Marine Corp, I told him how very proud I was of him and we talked for a great length about his dreams and reasons for doing so. I saw him last at their OHS graduation and he told me how ready he was to become a soldier. He truelly was following his lifelong dream and I thank him and your family for the sacrifices he made for all of us. He is an American Hero and will be in our thoughts always.
God Bless You and look over you.

"Blessed be the LORD my strength,
which teacheth my hands to war,

my goodness, and my fortress;

To Amy, Mark and CeCe - Both Tori and I are saddened to hear of Colin's death. He was always such an imp during dance classes and devising different ways to entertain himself during the down times of productions. When I told Tori, she said, he's too young to be gone - he was my pal! I feel the same. May his life, not his death, be your memories of him, knowing that he will always be alive in your heart. He made the biggest sacrifice and gave us the biggest gift for the protection of our country and our children. For that, I thank you. Know that you are on our prayers.

Even though I did not know your son, this does not stop my prayers for you and your family.
Glorified and sanctified be God's great name throughout the world which He has created according to His will. May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days, and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon; and say, Amen.
May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.
Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored, adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He, beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that are ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.
May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us
and for all Israel; and say, Amen.
He who creates peace in His celestial heights, may He create peace for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

My prayers are with you and your family. I will always smile when I remember Colin, a talented enthuiastic, positive young man. I know he shared these qualities with his fellow Marines as he did with all of us.
Please keep his memory alive through your dance. He is dancing now with God.

Please know that I am deeply sorry for the loss of Lance Cpl. Colin J. Wolfe.
As a parent, who has lost a daughter suddenly,
and as a sister, who has lost a brother to war,
I am aware of the deep and devastating pain that you are experiencing.
The overwhelming heartache, seems to surface through our shock, as the time passes.
Please hang on to your Faith and know that you will get through this.
Ever so softly and slowly, time does heal.
May Colin Rest Safely, in the Mighty Arms of God and know that he WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
I pray that God's Loving Comfort and Grace will be with you and your family.
I am the sister, of such a Young Hero, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, many years ago.
Surely He hath borne our grief, and carried our sorrow.
Isaiah 53:4
With each new day, may the Lord restore your soul and, through His love, give you the strength to go on.
Softly and slowly...
Time heals...
