Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Jarrett Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Justin R. Jarrett US Army Specialist. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

I still remember the day Justin was escorted through my county on his way to his final resting place. My heart ached so much for all his family. I was there at the intersection of Pickens County with my Fire engine. I was so sad to know that another family was suffering as my family was and still is. I lost my son David Collins April 9, 2006. I would have been no place but there to honor Justin. I keep him in my heart. God bless you and keep you always.

Double J, I still have all your letters when you were gone. Sometimes when I read them I am brought back to being that sixteen year old kid waiting on her best friend to come back. Its been years and you are still thought about and thought about often. Everything has changed, some things so scary and hard to take, I just wish I could call. Walter is getting married! I want to float down the river, before all this happened. Staying up late drinking... and arguing. I love you. You are a hero fallen on this world but a risen angel in the next. I miss you more than words will ever explain. Caroline...I pray you are well. Justin I have seen the girls, they are amazing. Your spirit is everywhere.

The last time we saw each other we both were inlisting. You made it and I never saw you agian. We are all proud of you. You are a true Hero. I wish you were here to give me a crash course cause I finally made it. May God keep you on his right side and shower with his love.

Double J, you made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. The last time we spoke, we were both headed down the wrong path. I wish it was different. I wish I had the chance to tell you how proud I was of the choice you made to join the army. You are a hero in my eyes. I will always keep you near my heart and in my prayers.

Re: SPF Justin R Jarrett

Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 2,800 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 240 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. Would you kindly send me a contact email/address so that we may send a loving hand-made prayer shawl to the family? Thank you!

Julie Srebro

April 9, 2009

Hello my name is Julie Srebro. A weeks ago I decided to go looking online for bracelets that represented the soldiers at war. My brother is in the millitary and some of my closest friends are all serving over seas. So I thought it would be nice to maybe have a bracelet with one of their names on it. I came across a website that offered custom bracelets, but right bellow the custom option was an option to have a random soldiers, who had passed away serving his country, name on a bracelet. I decided with out hesitation that I would love to represent a solider who had fallen. A week later I received my simple black metal bracelet in the mail, printed on it was: Spc Justin R Jarrett Jonesboro, GA Army 10/2/06
I wear it everyday, I have not taken it off since I got it. I wanted to let you know that even though I have never meet you or your son, that he is remembered everyday.

In Memory of Justin ~ (Debra Estep)

October 2, 2008

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Justin, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Justin I miss seeing you coming down the river with all the younger kids tied off to your tube so they wouldn't get hurt, but that is what kind of guy you were always looking out for the other guy. I miss the long talks we had on your granny's swing. Your endearing smile your bright eyes but most of all your kind heart. The way you were with all the kids in the neighborhood making sure everyone had a raft and that itwas aired up just right and taking the time to go with the ones who could not swim and tieing them to your raft so everyone had a safe ride.how you took the time to teach others and ask for nothing in return . What a GREAT MAN you turned out to be. I will always carry a little peice of you in my heart. How proud everyone was when you reached your goal and became a soldier and how proud we all were of the man you became and sad we are all now that you are gone, but you will never be forgotten because the impact you made in your short life, the lives you changed with your smile and wisdom that you gave freely I pray for the ones you left behind but I know you are setting at the right hand of GOD We love and miss you.

Justin was my cousin and the only one who believed in me no matter what. He taught me so much before he had to go, theres not a day that goes by where i dont think of him. His smile would light up the room. He loved like there was no tomorroe. I will never understand why he died so young, but i know i will always remember all the times we spent together I love and miss you Justin. Thank you all for writing your messages they mean so much. :]]

With the deepest regret, I have just learned of the death of Specialist Jarrett. As a Vietnam Veteran and the State Chaplain of the Georgia Society, Sons Of The American Revolution, I speak for our President, Charlie A. Newcomer, III and the more than 1,400 SAR members around the State of Georgia in humbly expressing the condolences of a grateful Society. Wrapped in the integrity of service to our nation and the inestimable values of duty, honor and country, your American hero stood on a wall of freedom for us all. This precious life, lived and lost in love of America, epitomized every attribute of patriotism the Sons Of The American Revolution hold dear. And, as Americans, we could never repay the debt we owe ..!! Nor the debt we owe you… the family of one of America's best ...!!!

I will try to keep it short and sweet as Justin would have wanted it.

To his great family,
Justin was an amazing man, as you already know very well. He came from a strong family as I got to witness in March and I am proud to have met all of you and his daughter who was a blessing in disguise. Thank you for your hospitality. I will be in touch as long as I live.

To Justin,
Most who met you a few times were more than likely changed for the better by the experience, those who knew you like I did are forever in debt. Those who never had the pleasure of knowing you are unlucky souls.

Where am I without my battle-buddy? Not a day goes by...Jarrett.

Peace.

P.S. Rest assured your daughter will make you even prouder than you were when you were alive.

August 14, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

May God Bless your family during this time. I Lost my brother 9/1/05

I am truly sorry in your loss. As a mother-in-law of a marine, my heart goes out for you and your family. As a young soldier, serving our country for me, the US, and our future great grandchildren, words can not express my feelings. I only knew Justin through Patty, John, Grace and Flat Stanley, but my heart aches for you and your family. Justin made such an impression on a class of 21 first graders when he sat in the top of his vehicle with Flat Stanley in his vest pocket- he was so "cool" and "awesome". Kayden and Amariss can be proud to know their daddy was a "cool" and "awesome" American hero. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you through this painful time.

Something like this has never hit so close to home until now. Justin and I didn't know each other very well, yet we were still family. Cousins to be exact. His father is my uncle. But that does not stop me from admiring him for having the courage to go to those third world countries and fighting for our freedom that doesn't come free. He has paid the ultimate price for being a good man. He died with honor.
My prayers are with the rest of our family as in 2 days we will be gathering for his funeral. This day will take a lot of strength out of every person attending, which is something that Justin had a tremendous amount of. He was a great man that will be missed by us all.

To the family of Justin, our sincere regrets and prayers are with you. Our family appreciate the sacrifice he gave to ensure our freedom. Psalm 34:18 reads: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn the loss of your loved one. May the love and peace of God transcend and surround you during this time of sorrow. Your son is a true hero...our American hero!

To the Family of Spc. Justin R. Jarrett:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son (SFC Brent A. Adams) 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday.
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is those wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
