You are always on my mind son...even more so when a song comes on that I know you loved as well... it still rattles me. I spent time with your brother and his great lil family over Memorial weekend and could feel you in my heart I know your watching over all of us and smiling down at the crazy antics (well, most of the time). I get calls and messages from many of your friends and fellow soldiers... you made an impact on so many and are so loved son. I'm very proud of all you did... however, I'm sad for the opportunities that you didn't get. I pray that you are happy and enjoying each and every day... you deserve that!! Until Valhalla son... then it's BIG hug time Love always, Mom

Hey Buddy! I just wanted to drop you a note. I think of you often and have for many years. We spent a lot of time together as childhood friends. I will never forget the day when my dad called me to say that "one of Norm's kids is on the list, killed in Iraq." I broke down and regretted not keeping in touch with you after I moved away. I drove back to Blythe to attend your memorial. As I pulled off the freeway, I saw so many people, flags, and ribbons. I gently eased my car into the line traveling toward the fairgrounds. You were loved by so many people! You will never be forgotten by dear friend. Thank you for your sacrifice.

April 19, 2010

It is with a sad and heavy heart that I am writing this message. My name is Staff Sergeant Joe Beimfohr and I was Norman's recruiter. I served the town of Blythe during 2001-2003. Norman was one of my finest recruits. He always had such a great attitude and he was eager to learn all he could about the Army. I found out today that we had lost Norman by one of his soldiers that served with him. I too was wounded severely in Iraq and lost both of my legs due to my injuries. My heart goes out to the Taylor family and I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I could say something to ease your pain, but I know there are no such words. I was proud to know your son and I can't express the regret and pain I feel for your loss. I hope to make it back out to Blythe one day and pay my respects to you in person.

My deepest sympathy,

Norm,

It's been awhile buddy. I miss ya like no other. I've been up in the mountains snowboarding and rockin Jack Johnson. I wish you were here buddy. Everyday I think about you and the other guys. I'm out now and hanging in to survive. To many nights go by sleepless thinking of that day. I know you're happy where your at and wanting the best for everyone. It's hard sometimes, people don't understand what all of us have been through. I'm seeing lots of dr's to help with the effects of war. Seem's sometimes I don't think they have a clue sometimes, but I'm not the expert. So now, I'm married, I have a wonderful wife that is so compassionate of what we all have gone through and very supportive. I've also had a lil girl pop up in our lives. She's is all the reason to keep hanging. I also have a lil boy on the way too. We haven't thought of the name yet, but I'm sure it will come to us. Buddy, I miss you greatly and wish things didn't happen that awful day. I will not forget the things you have given me nor will I let my family forget what all of you have given us! Keep taking it one day at a time! Love you bro, Jeremy

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Norman, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

My dearest nephew, can't believe it's been almost a year since you were taken from us. There hasn't been a day that goes by that I don't think about you. Wasn't that long ago that I was changing your diapers, and then watching you grow into a young man. We all miss you and wish you were with us. You touched so many lives in your short stay on earth, you will never be forgotten.

August 17, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

"STORMIN" Normin,
Hey man, wow...I don't know where to even start. Well first off i want to say that i do miss you man...and i want to say thanks for what you've done for our country and for my family. You were never forgotten in my heart and in my mind. I know that we go so far back it to funny to think about but, it's so hillarious to talk about. I can still remember that last night i saw you before you left. We were all that the parking lot, and that's when you told us that you were leaving for war. Your a brave man and soldier Sgt. Norman R. Taylor. I wiss I could have been back home in blythe to say good bye in person but it was just to hard. If i could some how turn the clock counter clockwise I would, and we would end up back in BFL again. Those were the good old days huh. GO LONGHORNS....damn i miss you...it takes alot of guts, heart, leadership, dedication, loyalty to do what you have accomplished, and not just for yourself, or your family, or friends, but for your country and freedom, and out of that you got HONOR. Your number 1 in my books Sgt. Norman R. Taylor. I know well meet again so untill then you keep fighting, because a true soldier keeps fighting, and that's what you are. A true fighting soldier. May you rest in peace my good friend and watch over all your friends and family. Can't wait to see you again. Love you man....

Buddy,
Wow, its been a few months now since the last time I wrote. To be honest Its still really hard for me to think your not there. I wanted to say that I am so sorry I couldn't be there to say good bye. Being in tech school out in Florida they wouldn't let me leave. So I guess I'll have to settle for writing you here.

And now that I am I have no clue where to start. Your an amazing friend, brother and soldier, and I am proud to say that I am fighting right along with you in the war on terrorism.

I pray that God brings peace to your family and loving wife. I pray that God eases the minds of all who knew and mourn for you.

You'll always be in my heart.
I promise that when I sing the National anthem I will think of you, and sing it loud and proud.

There are no words Norman to express how much you will be missed.

Love always

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

Tiffany, Lynda, Neil, Cody & Norman, Im am so sad and sorry for your loss.

I have so many memories of Buddy and his family, it's hard to remember just one. Wow, I used to babysit Cody and Buddy! They were just kids. Cute little blonde kids:) Aha Quin and the Gas dock will always be remembered, and so will the LONG bus rides to school. I was suprised to find out he was married also. To his wife, you had the honor of knowing a wonderful man who was loved by many and died a hero, trying to protect our freedom. I know you will always keep a special place in your heart for him. Lynda, my friend, Buddy adored you....You were his world even when we were kids. He looked up to you and you should be very proud of the man you raised.... The HERO you raised. He will always be watching over all of you, and keeping you safe from above. It's nice to know there are Angels like Buddy up there... I hope when you think of him, you remember the special memories you had and it brings a smile to your face, like it does mine. Cody, you were Buddy's best friend and I know you always will be. I love you all. May God fill your heart with peace and love.
Your Friend.......

Hey there Buddy!

I was devastated when my father called me to say that one of Norm Taylor's sons was killed in Iraq. I thought there must have been a mistake. Buddy Taylor couldnt be dead. I know its been quite some time since we last saw each other. I had the privilage of spending our younger years (6 - 13) as a friend of yours. I first met you in elemtary when you had a mullet and wore MC Hammer parachute pants (yes there is proof... i have pictures).

I have often thought about how you have turned out in later years and never imagined that I would be attending your memorial. From what the speakers had to say you lived a good life, full of ambition and character.

I remember a birthday a long time a girl when you bought a young girl a barbie... it had to be the perfect barbie. I know this because in later years my mom told me of a story about how your mom called her to find out which barbies I already had. You spent a good about of time and thought into which Barbie you wanted to get for me. You have always had a big heart.

You fought a good fight. You defended those who could not defent themselves. This is a great nation we live in and you have sacrificed your life for it. You hold great honor and diginity, a true hero!

Well, Norman Rober Taylor III... I have missed you and it looks like I will continue to do so. You will remain in my heart and in my memories for all of my remaining days. I wish you well in your afterlife. May you watch over your loved ones closely, sit by and keep them safe! I will miss you Buddy Taylor. Rest in peace dear friend.

Always,
Kandi

Buddy was my very first friend; My very first best friend.
Although mymemories are limited and scattered, I remember Buddy, always and only as perfection... even as a small child he always protected and cared for me. He lead me aroud in a wagon at my birthday party, he danced with me at my Mother's wedding, he made sure I felt included at his home, by taking me dirt biking and jets skiing (even though I was scared to death to do both, he just told me to hold on and somehow instead of running the other way, I trusted him and held on) he adviced me against "Beauty and the Beast" (because he didn't want me to get scared) and held my hand while I was getting bandaged up after a turtle mishap...

Buddy was Hero then and he is my Hero today.
My deepest sympathy to all who loved him.
