Mike, here we are now 14 years of living our lives without you...It has been a real struggle, but we know that only by the strength and the faith that me, your mom, and your sister have in God that we have been able to weather the storm of being without you...not a day, a month, or a year passes that the memories of you have not been in my heart as well as in my thoughts..we love you, but have willingly accepted the fact that God loved you more, and picked you as a beautiful rose from the garden of this world to forever be displayed in His eternal presence...continue to rest in His peace, and know that you are and will be forever loved...Dad

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Michael, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Rev and Mrs Wiggins:
I was touched when I read Michael's guest book. My only son is named Michael as well. I have been in the Ministry since 1979 and have learned never to question God because He sets the appointment for all of us!
"...weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning..." I was pleased to see that Michael was a Deacon. My son is one as well. The beauty is that you know you will see him again and that he is safe in the arms of God.
I am trusting God to restore your JOY, "...unspeakable joy..." and to give the family PEACE, the peace that "...surpasses all understanding..." May He continue to bless your Ministry, your marriage and your home. Having his Angels encamped around you, protecting you from seen and unseen danger as you go forth BOLDY in the furtherance of the Kingdom of Christ!
I thank God because Michael will "...never know pain or suffering again..." and that God has "...wiped away ALL tears from Michael's eyes..."
I will FOREVER Salute Staff Sgt. Michael J. Wiggins!
Yours in Christ,
florence

I served with Wiggins back in early 2000. When he first joined the army. He was very funny, and loved to play NBA LIVE 99. We used to play all night. He was like a little brother. He could run so fast too. Before he came I was the fastest in the company. The day he took my spot I could not keep up with him. I remember when he bought his first car, first computer, We used to talk about music all the time. He loved the Roots, and Common. He was so smart. And always on time. To the Wiggins family. Your son was a gift from God. It was rare when he lift your presence that you did not feel better. Or smile. He always could put a bright light on a dark matter. I recall the time he stood up to a Command SGT Major as a young private so we all could eat chow at the ranger chow hall. We love you Wiggins!!!

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain, so I will not pretend that I know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Time by: Duane B. Evans Jr
Time can be measured by seconds, minutes, days, months and years.
But at the loss of a loved one it is measured in tears.
Some say only time will ease the pain, but to you even when its sunny all you see is rain.
Minutes can seem like hours, and days seem like years.
When that day comes, you realize your greatest fear.
Only time will tell if the pain goes away.
Just remeber the good times, until you see them another day.
Always remember, If its GODS will, Its His way! Keep your head up.

The Hi-Liters Alumni Association (H.L.A.A.) wishes to express our love and Christian sympathy to the Reverend Anthony & Valerie Wiggins and to their family in the loss of their son Staff Sgt. Michael Wiggins.
The passing of your loved one is the will of God, and yet, there is a human tie that has been broken, which bleeds the heart in agony and pain. You must find comfort and consolation in the words of Jesus, who said: "Cast your burdens on Him, for earth hath no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal."
It is our hope that you rely on God for your healing and we commend you to the Divine Comforter who is able to sustain, encourage and strengthen all who call upon Him.
We lift you in prayer for your strength in the Lord, and we open our hearts, arms, and doors to assist you. May God continue to Bless, Strengthen, and Keep you.

Tony, you and I attended Ashland College during the same years, and we knew each other way back when. I've learned through members of my church that you've taught at Shaw High School (I serve Hope Lutheran Church on Taylor Road, just a mile or so from there).
I was deeply saddened to learn of the loss of your son, Michael. In everything I've read about him, he sounded like a fine young man, and my heart has gone out to you all. We prayed for you from our congregation, and I am keeping you in my personal prayers for a long time.

I've never known of anyone personally who has fought and died in war. Although I had not spoken to Minkus since high school, he and I were fairly good friends. He and I ran Cross country and Track together briefly at Shaw because soon after I quit, but when I was on the team our practice route always lead up the hill to my House where we would chill out for a few hours and then run back to the school as if we had been running the whole time. I remember him discussing going into the military. It was funny because he was such a little guy and he felt that serving in the armed forces would ultimately increase his stature. I sympathize with those who loved him and were the closest too him still. I remember his sister Nicole and I wish her well. At 6'5 225lbs my stature is nearly as big as they come, However I will never posess such an amount of temerity which would allow me the fortitude to face the constant fears prevalent during the necessity of war.
