Never will i forget what a nice and humble spirited person LCPL Morris was. The short amount of time i knew him made everlasting impressions..

LCPL Morris was a person that could bring light into the darkest of rooms. Someone who not only drew a circle around himself and his family, but a crircle around his freinds co-workers and strangers as well. He welcomed anybody that came around with a warm heart.
LCPL Morris will always be in my memories and the memories of many other fellow Marines .. SEMPER FI

Its the 2011 and as it was before it still is that day is burned deep in my memory forever. 4 years later I remember it as clear. As if it happened yesterday and remember how we all felt afterwards. Life goes on, people move on and I can not move on from that day.

It will allways haunt me that day Fed 14th, 2007 Haqlaniyah Al Anbar province Iraq and with that 4 years later. I remember.

Rest in peace

I do not know this man at all, I came here by a google search because "Daniel T. Morris" (by coincidence) is a name I invented many years ago as a kid, I attributed his name to the architect behind the buildings I would draw as a child, and made it a pseudonym of sorts.

I was surprised to find that someone with this name really exists, and I am saddened to hear of his death, and at such a young age, younger than I am now (20). I never knew this gentlemen, but I thank him for serving and protecting our country. My heart goes out to his family. May he rest in peace.

It was Feb. 14th, 2007 and it will be a day I will allways remember. I was there, I saw what happen, and I was one of many of his fellow brothers who reacted to the horrible new with sadness, pain, and anger. Sometimes I wonder could have things gone the other way and Morris would still be here today yes I do but nothing will bring him back.

May that he will never be forgotten for I and members of 1st platoon golf company will allways bear the scar of his loss. 3 years later I still remember and your memory will never die.

To the family of Lance Cpl Daniel T. Morris,
I saw the clip on NBC 29 about the bridge being named after Lance Cpl Morris. I don't know if you were aware of the Run For the Fallen (www.runforthefallen.org) this summer of 2008; which began in Fort Irwin, CA & ended in Arlington National Cemetery on August 24th. The team ran a mile in his honor on Day 52 of the run, a flag & card about him was placed in Tennessee. He was the mile 52 of that day, the (64.02 miles) leg between Murfreesboro & McMinniville, TN--about 12 miles before McMinnville. The flags were placed in the order of death. Daniel's flag is number 3134.

I helped on Day 63, as they ran from Waynesboro, & passed thru Charlottesville, to end the day at Shannon Hill, VA. If I can answer any questions, I would be glad to do so. I am sorry I do not have more to offer in comfort.

I belong to the American Soldier Memorial Project and have cross stitched a memorial sampler for Daniel. Back in May I met a lady at the Staunton Mall who told me about him. Her son, Chris Bryant was a friend. I am hoping to get in touch with someone in the family so I can deliver it in person. We will be in Staunton from 10/6 to 10/22. May God give you comfort at this time and know that my husband and I honor Daniel's sacrifice for our country.

Carol and Jon, I just wanted to say how very sorry I am for your loss of Daniel. Him and Jon have always been thought of as my "extended nephews" and that's how I will always think of the boys. I'm sure that today being Daniels birthday, that you are having a hard time, but remember that we loved him ( and you) and that he was a hero. Please keep in touch!

August 16, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

Lcpl. Morris was my fellow brother and friend during his time in the Marines. We shared the same pain, and took the same punishment during the build up to Iraq and in Iraq.

He was our rock in the platoon, when Moral was low he brought it back up with his smart remarks and jokes. He was allways caring and loving towards his fellow man and understanding when no one else would listen.

The loss of Lcpl. Morris hit the Platoon hard and the rest of Golf Co. May he R.I.P, and know that his family is back home and Ok.

“Paid in Full”
To Honor The Service of Fallen and Injured Marines

Marines through and through, they paid the price
Six thousand miles away, we live the life
For which they paid with their blood, spirits and bodies
We will never forget what they paid in full

We hope and we pray that somehow their loved ones find comfort
In God, in the flag, in the memory of their loved ones’ bravery
They’re gone now but we see them still…proud, strong, willing
Covering each other’s backs… courageous, moving forward

What kind of love did they have for us to be willing
To give it all for the Black, White, Jew, Christian, Muslim?
We don’t comprehend but we honor you now and forever
You are Our Marines…some living…some not
Forever in our hearts we will cherish your lives

Lives too short yet immortal they’ll be
Highest brotherhood of the Few, the Proud
They stand at attention, and we gaze with awe
Some know their names not, but our admiration for them
Flows limitless within us, between us

They sacrificed their limbs or their lives
Freedom still rings, a soft sound across the miles
It tolls slowly; all of creation takes note
Of the lives that were lost for people unknown

Out of sight but not lost; forever among us
The starched blues marching straight
Toward the place where we will meet them
Many years from now…how we loved them…
Well done beloved Brothers and Sisters…You’ve paid it in full
Always Faithful Marines, You Have Paid it in Full

My name is Yvonne Spencer and I am from Deming, NM. I write in behalf of the citizens here in Deming, for the other Marine that was in the explosion that took Daniel's life was one of Deming's Marines, Travis Dodson. Travis survived, but the blast cost him both his legs and possibly an eye. All of us here in Deming feel so terrible about what has happened and we would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Lance Cpl. Daniel Morris. You are in our prayers. Travis speaks very highly of Daniel - he is very sorry for what has happened. The sacrifices these boys have made for our country have been the ultimate and we are truly grateful and humbled by these heros. Again, our deepest sympathies and may God be with you during these trying times.

To the family of Daniel: I will keep you in my thoughts and ask God to walk with you doing this the darkest of days. I did not know Daniel, but my son was a marine who was also killed in Al Anbar this month. We also have a son named Daniel, he is 7 and is heartbroken as he was very close to our oldest son. I know the pain you feel. There is nothing worse than losing one's child, as we have unfortunately learned this month. May God bless you and strengthen us though this, the worst of all nightmares come true. Feel free to contact my wife or I, if it will help.

Your son meant alot to my Daniel and he will be sincerely missed. May God be with you and yours during this difficult time. Please contact my wife or I if we can be of any service to you.

I feel confiedent in saying that Danny was undoubtedly the kindest and most considerate person I have ever known or called my friend.
Saying goodbye to a man like that is heartwrenching, and i hate that anyone would ever have to picture this world without him.
He had no enemies, he was never disliked, and he disliked no one either. His heart was full and kind and gentle- all he ever wanted was to make us all proud, and to do his best.
There was never a second in his presence that you could be sad or go without smiling- and if you tried, he'd be sure to fix it.
I'm sure he has each and every soul in heaven laughing and smiling right now.
I struggle through each day knowing he won't be back here again.
All i can do is know that he's in a better place- a place with other kindhearted souls like him.
Love you forever Danny.
<3 Lyndsay

" I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good
It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend...

Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good."

I'm so sorry that this happened. Daniel and I have been best friends for about 4 years now. We went through so much together. We used to talk about getting married and having children. He used to tell everyone I was his girlfriend. We used to do everything together. We even worked together. Danny helped me get my first job. So after he joined, I helped him study his general orders and all the other things in his handbook. We learned the Marine hymn and he used to quote the last part of the last verse to me all the time. "If the Army and the Navy ever looked on Heaven's scenes, they would find the streets are guarded by the UNITED STATES MARINES!" I know he's up there guarding the streets and making all the angels laugh. He made me laugh every night. He could always make me smile/laugh. We used to talk everynight when he was in Hawaii. He even helped pay for me to come visit him in Hawaii for my birthday. He introduced me to another Marine who is now my fiancee. The last time Daniel and I talked he told me to tell his mom he loved her. He said him, Nick, and I should all get an apaprtment together. He said he wanted to live with me/ beside me the rest of his life. Now he lives in my heart and goes with me everywhere I go. Danny will always be my HERO and my best friend.

I love Danny's family. I'm so sorry this happened to you all. Danny loved you all so much and he wanted more than anything to protect you and keep you all safe. He loved you all. I'm praying for all of you and I love you all so much. You're like a second family to me and I hope it will stay that way.

Love you all! <3

To the Morris family:

We've never met, but I see that we have many connections. I was reading in the "Chillicothe Gazette" that LCpl's father is minister of the Canal Church of Christ. I was raised in the Piketon Church of Christ, just down the road, and I know many church members that were once at Piketon, are now at Canal.

You have my sincere condolences. I am a USAF chaplain, and if there is anything that I can do, please do not hesitate to let me know.

I am the son and brother of Marines, and if I can do anything, let me know.

To the family of Lance CPL Daniel Morris-May God be with you during this most difficult time of your life. As all the others that have gone before your precious Daniel, he was a HERO, defending his country and all it stands for. I did not know your son, but I bet I knew someone a lot like him-my son Adam. My Adam was killed on 7/22/06 by an IED in Baghdad while out on patrol clearing these explosives to make the roads safe for his fellow soldiers. Adam was a combat medic with the 101st
Airborn (Air Assalt) Division out of Ft Campbell,KY. He would be 23 next week (Feb. 28th). I would love to be able to write to all the families that have lost a son/daughter, but that would be impossible. I am contacting you b/c we are neighbors, sort of. We live in Ruckersville, just outside of Charlottesville. Each child is unique, but I DO know the pain you are feeling right. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Be proud of your son, HERO.

Dear John and Carol I have known Daniel since the first day of Kindergarten he was my best friend in the first grade and I vividly remember the day he broke his arm I remember getting Mrs. Foster and Telling her Daniel broke his arm when he fell off the jungle gym. I will always remember how much he wanted to impress Mr. Correll the Middle school Band Director with how much he had practiced and how proud he was of him self the first time he got 1st chair of the trumpets and made all county band on the first try. He was a great guy and friend and I will always remember how he use to pretend to be a robot to make me laugh when we were young. I wish this hadn’t happened to anyone but especially to you. John and Daniel were a great pair and I will always remember how great Daniel was and how brave his decision to join the marines was especially in a time of war. I feel very honored to not only have known Daniel but to be able to say he was my friend and a great classmate. Rest in peace Dan you did a great job!

Daniel was in my First Grade class at Hugh Cassell Elementary. He also visited my church with his Grandmother. I remember Daniel had a smile like none other and was always happy. He was such a good kid with a very big heart. I am proud to have had the privilege too have taught such a valiant young man. His sacrifice will not be forgotten. To all of Daniel's family and friends, I am lifting you up in my prayers and will continue to do so. May our Lord Jesus bring you comfort during this difficult time.

I would like to express my deep sympathy for the loss of your dear son Daniel.
Having never lost a child I can not say I know your pain.
I do come from a military background, and the pride of having family member serve our country is beyond words can say.
Your son Daniel gave the most, his life.
I lift up each one who loved Daniel , knowing he is in the eternal peace of protection of God.
May God love and peace be with during this very very hard time. Hearing all the wonderful things that have been said about him, even on ABC news Tuesday night.
Please know you are not alone, others care about you and will be praying for you now and always.

I am so sorry for the pain you are going through, the empty feeling inside right to the core of your being and the words of sympothy of caring people like myself seem not to penatrate. I can not say I know your pain for I have not lost a child. I have lost loved ones very close to me and I leaned on God for his guidence and his love and the love and suport of my children carried me through. Danny...wow. where to begin. He was my best guy friend...the one who could always find a way to make me laugh...even when i was having the worst day of my life. He always gave such great advice, telling me never to settle for less than i deserve...I still can't believe this is true, it just doesn't seem real. You were such an amazing person..but I know you're making God laugh and making Heaven a better place with your gorgeous smile and those unmistakenly bright blue eyes of yours...so i was looking out my window the other night and i caught a glimpse of the stars...which i'm sure everyone has heard about my obsession w/the stars and all...but as i looked closer, i realized one was shining so much brighter than the rest...and i just had to laugh...because i knew it was you. and baby, oh how you ALWAYS shined so much brighter than the rest...I LOVE YOU!! You will be greatly missed, words can't even express how heartbroken i am.

For his family..especially his mother: I am so deeply sorry, I know how bad you are hurting. I just wanted to let you know how much Danny loved you all, he would always talk about you and he was so very proud to be a US marine, protecting those he loved and cared for. I made sure I told him every time I talked to him how proud of him I was...and how he was my hero...

Father we entrust our brother Daniel to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Daniel in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Heaven's Call

Heaven called and you were taken
So young to go, to young to know

The call of heaven did not wait
Your time here a short stay
You were called away
To be part of God’s everlasting garden

Borrowed seed from the Master
A small little bud that graced us with your beauty
Now returned upon heaven’s call

A finely chosen rose
Taken before it bloomed
Before your beauty had time to unfold

He is the Gardner and you his prize winning bud
Perhaps He seen a storm that you could not with stand
So he picked you before the wind would fall

The memories forever etched in our hearts
Our little bud now blooms
With the angels up on high

GOD BLESS YOU DANIEL YOU HAVE EARNED YOUR WINGS IN HEAVEN, TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS HOLD CLOSE TO YOUR HEART ALL THE MEMORIES OF DANIEL MAY THEY BRING YOU COMFORT

February 16, 2007

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

There will Never Be Enough Ways to Humbly Thank these Heroes for their Supreme Sacrifice, my 19 year young brother among them. KIA~Vietnam, 1967.

"I consider that our present sufferings. are not worth comparing with the glory that shall be revealed in us."
