Hey, Lynda and Ryan, i was just spending some time with Em, saw this site, hence, hope you all don't, we are stopping in. . .

Ryan, buddy, you are said good night to, in this house, nightly. You, right along with Em.

Lynda, hang in there, Babe. As Em puts it, "Stay tough."

There is a better place--our boys are in it. And, thus, as the song states, "God only cries for the living, because it is the living that are so far from home. . . . it is the living that are left to carry on."

As I would say to anyone who has been issued these "change orders" with respect to your loved one, and respectively, to your relationship with your child: Don't let them die. Keep them with you always. Keep them alive. Never leave them behind.

God hold you both.

Hey my sweet Guido Son,
Well, it was the most sucessful Freedom Fest ever! As always, fun was had by all, some more than others, and you know what I mean! I know you were there with us, as you are always, so I'm very sure you would agree that Mr. Phil Taylor gifted us all with the most beautiful portrait of our favorite Patriot! Ryan, our lives have always been blessed because of you, but I've never felt so much love in all my life, Son. We all continue to miss you deeply, however, I think somehow, by all of us being together, it brings you back home close to us. I am certain of one thing, that you were, and always will be, so loved!
Still missing your laugh, your smile, your beautiful eyes, and always, your silly stick dances!
I love you Son,

Ryan,
Really trying to understand, but not doing a very good job. I know you would say, "Get with the program Mama"! but I'm afraid i am probably a real disapointment at this point! So sorry, but I'm doing the best I can. Everything is so messed up here. Dad isn't doing so well, as you know. I keep praying for my miracle, just like I did with you, full well knowing, there isn't one this time.I keep praying and praying and I'm just not able to accept the answer I'm getting. I wish I had super powers, or maybe I was just a super-hero! Then maybe I could make every thing okay. I'm not and I can't. They are only clouds. I still hold you so close in my heart and my life!
I love you and miss you more than anyone knows!

I can't believe it has been 2 years, it seems like forever most days, some like it was only yesterday that we lost you. I think of you every day and miss your smile and laugh so very much! I hold you so close in my heart I think I might just squeeze the stuffing right out! Somehow, I thought loosing you would get easier over time, but I'm finding time does not heal all wounds.
I am so proud of what you have given to us all and you will always be my special hero!

Hey Ryan,
Getting colse to election time. Looks like they are going to start bringing the troops home. Slowly, Iraq is being handed back to their people, and this is all winding down. We all know that you and all the others did not give your lives in vain. I think of you often. I am getting ready for my 20 year HighSchool reunion, and found out that one of my friends from school is a guy in the Marines that defuses IED's. He also got hit by one, but was lucky only to be slightly injured. Any how, just wanted to drop a line to you. Say hi to Grandma and Grandpa

Ryan,I think about you everyday. All the good times and how much closer we became over the years. My heart continues to be broken. Although you were my closest cousin in age, you were like a close friend, a little brother, and son all in one. I looked at a picture of you the other day.... and said out loud that it was hard to belive you were really gone. I know you are always with me, but it still hurts. I love you, Ryan. We all miss you. This weekend is our FREEDOM FEST PARTY..... just like always you and the GUYS will be on our minds. We will think of those that fought, died ,and the GREAT AMERICANS that are continue fighting for our FREEDOM. I love you Ryan. To everyone that signs this book- thank you for the kind words and GOD BLESS!

I have to tell ya, I know I've been hit, broke bones, concussions, blah blah blah, but, I am the biggest whimp I know! How you go so many is beyond me!? As you also know, next month may be my last month in boots. After this last one, I've decided to hang them up, maybe a tour to late? When it is time, I'll be looking for you...Until then...Keeping the faith....Crusty

Ryan,
It’s hard to believe that it has been over a year that you were called home with our Lord. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was a great homecoming with Grandpa Theon. I you were there when Grandma Alice came home as well. I know in this time of year that we remember our solders that gave their lives for our freedom and you paid that price for all of the family. I hope that you & our Grandparents continue to look down on us till we meet again in Heaven. To my family that reads this tribute remember that I love all of you & God Bless the USA.

Ryan was my an amazing young man with many talents. Everyone he met loved him, I know I did. My son fell in love with him the first time he met his Uncle Ryan, and still thinks of him often. For the last years of our friendship we only saw each other once or twice a year. Ryan you are the kind of friend that in that short time were able to encourage, support, and inspire me. You encouraged me to focus on my God and what He means to me. Not to just accept somebody elses view of God. You inspire me to this day, to treat people better, to make a difference in the world around me. I miss you brother.

I helped load you off the helicopter in Balad and into the ER. I talked to you the day before St Patrick's day, I did not get to say good bye to you on the 18th when you were loaded onto the C17 to Germany. Had I known that would be your last flight, I would have been there. The tears I shed now are for the day I can meet you again. GOD, I hope this is for a good cause, time will tell.

Hey Ryan,
I can't beleive it has been a year since you were taken from us. I am sorry that I was not able to be there for your return. I and my family are so proud of you and what you stood for. My only wish is that we would have been closer. Unfortunatly, it is a long way between California and Texas. I can still remember the phone call when you and I were talking when my Dad was in the hospital. You had so many plans for the future when you finished your duty. I was excited for you. At least now you a home with the Lord. The homecoming must have been great with Grandpa up there, then a short time after you got there, Grandma came home. We all miss you and still are sad, but we have the satisfaction in knowing one day we will all be together in heaven in the presence of God. See you someday soon.

It's been almost 8 months now Ryan, and it's not any easier today than it was March 18th. You took up a lot of space in people's lives, with your laughter, jokes, charisma, and character. Now that you're gone, it seems like there is a void in so many people's lives. I guess the only positive thing I can say is, thank you, for making such an impact, for serving whole-heartedly and with a genuine love for this country, your friends and your family. Thank you for the memories, both good and bad. Thank you for showing everyone one around you what it's like to love life. I miss you dearly. I had the honor of serving in Green's platoon in hawaii. If there was one thing anyone could say about Ryan it's that he was a true patriot, not afraid to give the shirt off his back to a friend in need and he always had a way of taking the worst situation possible and making it a walk in the park. We served together durring his first tour in Afghanistan and without him it sure would have made the year go by alot slower. Ryan was not only a friend but a brother to most of us that knew him. One thing is for sure he will never be forgotten.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron A. Wilson (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

Ryan you will be missed and remembered for making the greatest sacrifice a soldier can make for his country as well as his people. We were both very upset when we found out that you had been badly hurt and a few days later learned that God decided to take your pain and suffering away. Although we are all very sad to loose such a great person you are in a better place. We love and miss you!!
Love,

My son, 1-12 4ID, recently returned from Iraq and served as part of Ryan's Honor Guard. I have cried tears of sorrow for each of you as I have listened to my son share this experience. Please know that the men of Ryan's Honor Guard were SO deeply touched. Ryan is one of their own and will forever remain in their hearts. Our prayers for you all will continue.

I went to scholl with Ryan and I gave him the nick name doughboy, because he could always make us smile. I will never forget him, or all the fun times and good laughs that we had. He always Told Brandon and myself about how lucky he was to have you. Little did he know how lucky we were to have him. He will never be forgotten.
