His Memory Will Live On,
We can shed tears that my Danny is gone, or you can smile because he lived, You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him or you can be full of the love that you shared, You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone or you can cherish his memory and let it live on, You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back, or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, and let his memory thru you live on...
Missing you so much my son.

To the family of Pfc. Daniel A. Fuentes. I just received a facebook invitation from Nancy and I thank you for asking me to join in and honoring and remembering Dan. Our prayers will be with you and your family as the 3rd Anniversary of his death draws near. This year will mark our son Tim's 5th year and I can say not one monement goes by that we don't think of him. The wound never heals it just get covered over and somehow we must learn to realize this and move forward one day at a time. Both my wife and I started a foundation to honor the fallen in Florida (www.floridafallenheroes.org) if you get the time please take a few minutes and look it over. We pray that God comforts and guides you on this journey. Know that Dan now walks with his Band of Brothers gone before him on Fidelers Green in the Eternal Light of our Savor Lord Jesus Christ. May God bless you and keep you, may He shine His everlasting light upon you always.

We do not know each other but all of Daniel's family is in my prayers. My best friend lost her son in Iraq in 2004. He was always like a grandson to my husband and me. Life will never be the same for you without Daniel but your faith in God will sustain you. I really do not know what led me to Daniel's page in the guestbook today but I believe there is a reason for everything. Yesterday I read something and for some reason wrote it down. Maybe it was so I could pass it on to you today. "Death brings a heartache no one can heal. Love brings a memory no one can steal." God bless Daniel for the sacrafice he gave for me and for our country and God bless his family always.

"everyday i live my life knowin i have everything and everyone in my life i culd ever neeed.. but yet sumhow i always find myself asking the same question over and over again, which is.. AM I HAPPY, even tho i may seem as if i am, i nvaa quite have found the anwser to that question"....
Anna when u told me bout the passing of danny, i didnt kno wat to think.. i didnt kno wat to feel, sadly of all i didnt kno wat to say.... here's a guy who bravely put himself in the line of duty and sacrificed his life for our country... and here i am worrryin bout my life and tryin to figure out wether im hapy or not, well i can honestly say thanks to danny i finally found the anwser after all these years... i am not happy cause i feel im to selfish.. danny u made me realize there are other ppl in this world and im not the only one, u made me realize how precious life is and to nvaa throw it away.. u told me to always go after my dreams no matter how silly they may seem cause ur dreams r wat gets u thru life.... you went after your dreams by fightin for our country cause u believed u culd make a difference and trust me u did.. not only to america, not only do ur parents or hector and anna and not only to yolanda, jack, daniella, adriana or alexia.... but most importantly u made a difference to me and that i will nvaa forget u and i will always miss u.. but most importantly danny i will always love u..
"when the sun rises in the mornin, i always kno ur tellin the world ur still with us... when the sun shines on me harder than anyone else, ill kno ur givin me a hug and tellin me u love me.. when the wind blows ill say that's you playin and jokin the way u used to do.. and right before the sun goes down and the moon comes up, i sayy gudnite.. but u will nvaa hear me say good bye, not to u or anyone i love.... cause like i learned nutin in this world is ever good bye cause thats sayin gudbye foreva cause u kno u wont ever see them again, instead u say until nxt time or gud nite cause i kno ill c u again"......
danny i c u everytime i look at jr, he looks more and more like u everyday as he gets older... and when he's old enough to understand we'll tell every story we kno about u and how he suld be proud of u and how his father is america's hero.....
REST IN PEACE DANNY FUENTES: AMERICA'S HERO + MY HERO= ONE VERY TERRIFIC BRAVE YOUNG MAN, WHO'S LOVED AND MISSED EVERYDAY......

fuentes family, lenis family and rotger family, please accept my condolences and kno im here for u and danny had nvaa left ur hearts or ur life, he is still with us cause when he left this world on that tragic day.. he didnt leave us for gud, instead he left behind soo manyy memories but mostly of all he left behind a little bundle of joy that wuld bring all our familys togather, who on this day we now call danny jr.... we love an miss u always danny...

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Daniel, but he is my hero.

Honoring The Levittown Soldier

Daniel A. Fuentes

Date: October 20, 2007

Time: 3:30pm

Also Announcing The Birth of his son Daniel Jonathan Fuentes

Born September 10, 2007 @ 3:32p.m. Wt. 6lbs. 9oz. Ht. 19in.

On April 6, 2007 our Family Circle was broken as we received the tragic news that our son SPC Daniel Fuentes of Levittown, died in Baghdad, Iraq in service of our country. The Fuentes, Rotger, and Lenis Family are traveling this painful journey together and strong. “Yes, our Family Circle has been broken, but the link will always remain in our hearts.” We have been able to endure this journey because of the outpouring of compassion from our family, friends, neighbors, the Levittown community and the surrounding communities. Indeed, we have been comforted by the care and concern that you have shown since Daniel’s death in Iraq. Your support has strengthened us and made it possible for us to get through this journey and to keep Daniel’s memory alive.

We want to say thank you to all of the men and women in our Armed Forces who put their lives on the line every day to protect this country.

To all our Armed Forces personnel who have served and who are serving our country. You have our deepest gratitude for securing and defending our freedom.

Delta Company 1-28 Infantry, Black Lions, away from home fighting in Iraq. We have deep admiration of your bravery and courage. We are holding you in our prayers.

We also want to express our gratitude to the Long Island elected officials: Congressman Peter King; Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Souzzi our very own Legislator Dennis Dunne, District 15, Nassau County Legislature; Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray; Council Member Gary Hudes, 6th District, Town of Hempstead and the unforgettable Andy Booth, Post 1711 Commander. We have been comforted by your support, warmth, and care. In addition, we would like to thank you for the invitation and the opportunity to honor our son in the Levittown Memorial Day Parade.

We also want to express our gratitude to:

To the Brave, Nassau/Suffolk and New York City Police Officers and the 100’s of people who lined to see Daniel at O’Shea’s Funeral home. Veteran organizations and friends from Island Trees High School, supervisors, teachers and students. We have been comforted by your support and warmth.

To the Brave, our Fire Department fire fighters, volunteers and our surrounding communities’ brave fire fighters, volunteers, who went to see our son Daniel at O’Shea’s Funeral Home, and also, your display of the American Flag; the Arch of Honor was amazing and beautiful; it was and will always be heart felt, your efforts are so much appreciated. You have our deepest gratitude.

To the 911 Police Plaza Patrolman’s Association, thank you, the bagpipes and drums version of Amazing Grace which serenaded our son Daniel was full of emotion for everyone as Daniel was carried out the funeral home by the Honor Guards, and Patriot Guards, words cannot express our gratitude we thank you for your support and leading the way to the National Cemetery in Farmingdale.

To Andrew Booth, Post 1711 Commander and squadron members, Veterans and other Veteran organizations, the citizens holding American flags and the Island Trees Students and Teachers standing in the cold outside the school as we passed. We have been comforted by your warmth and care.

To Charles O’Shea Funeral Home in Wantagh. You have shown the Levittown community and surrounding communities that in a time of pain and grief you can also offer care and comfort. Your ability to show professionalism and warmth is highly appreciated and you have our deepest gratitude.

Our words and deeds will never adequately express our gratitude for the service and your support you have all shown us.

From the Fuentes, Rotger & Lenis Family,

God Bless You.

You can go to www.myspace.com and search under e-mail address [email protected] and see the pictures we've posted, and also www.danielfuentes.org to post any comments. Help keep his memory alive.

Thank you for the sacrifice made by Pfc Fuentes and the sacrifice made by everyone who loves and misses him! May God bless all of you!!

August 7, 2007

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Dear Fuentes Family and Friends, We had the great honor of meeting your son just before he deployed with our son to Iraq at Ft. Riley. He was a fine, friendly and polite man that our son considered a friend. He will be missed by all those who met him. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and may God bless you and keep you in your hours of need.

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go
