Jamie was an amazing individual first & foremost, & that is why he was also an incredible soldier. Jamie cared for everyone, & was an outstanding person. I looked up to Jamie alot, & believe him to be a role-model to myself & the other soldiers that knew him. I had the distinct honor of knowing Jamie very well, sharing a deployment, training, & many nights/days in his company. Jamie was more than a hero...Jamie was a true friend to me. Always pushing each of us to be stronger, better, & LIVING his beliefs, & convictions by example.
Jamie, you are gone, but never forgotten!

My thoughts are with the family of this very special person. When we lose someone that we love and their death was ther result of trying to do something good and noble, it takes the heart a very long time to mend even a little. There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Memorial Day Weekend 2007
"O my Lord! I myself and all created things bear witness unto Thy might, and I pray Thee not to turn away from Thyself this spirit that hath ascended unto Thee, unto Thy heavenly place, Thine exalted Paradise and Thy retreats of nearness, O Thou Who art the Lord of all men!
Grant, then, O my God, that Thy servant may consort with Thy chosen ones, Thy saints and Thy Messengers in heavenly places that the pen cannot tell nor the tongue recount.
O my Lord, the poor one hath verily hastened unto the Kingdom of Thy wealth, the stranger unto his home within Thy precincts, he that is sore athirst to the heavenly river of Thy Bounty. Deprive him not, O Lord, from his share of the banquet of Thy grace and from the favor of Thy bounty. Thou art in truth the Almighty, the Gracious, the All-Bountiful.
O my God, Thy Trust hath been returned unto Thee. It behooveth Thy Grace and Thy Bounty that have compassed Thy dominions on earth and in heaven, to vouchsafe unto Thy newly welcomed one Thy gifts and Thy bestowals, and the fruits of the tree of Thy grace! Powerful art Thou to do as Thou willest. There is none other God but Thee, the Gracious, the Most Bountiful, the Compassionate, the Bestower, the Pardoner, the Precious, the All-Kwowing...."

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

To the family of Spc. James Lindsey, I'm so very sorry for the loss of your son. My son Cpl Cody Putman was also killed on April 12th. I know the pain and pride you are feeling. Our sons paid the ultimate price, but it doesn't make my heart hurt any less. We are still in disbelief. We have gone through the formalities of having him brought back to us and have the showing and greeting all of our family, friends, and the community, and finally the burial. Cody was honored as a hero and we are so very proud of that, but I still can't believe it is true. My thoughts and prayers are also with your family during time. I'm so sorry we have to bear this terrible pain. May the Peace of the Lord be with you and your family.

To Jamie Lindsey's entire family:
Words cannot express the sadness and pain that we feel over Jamie's death. Our family had the pleasure of getting to know this fine young man in the fall of 2004. Jamie will live on in our hearts forever as a hero who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedon. Jamie was an outstanding young man, and this world will never be the same without him in it. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, and we thank God each and every day for Jamie's precious life.

This is to Genice (my cousin) and Mae (my aunt). Just wanted you to know that though I could not attend the funeral services, you are in my heart and prayers every day. I was shocked and heartbroken when I heard the news that my little cousin had been taken from us. He will always be "my little cousin" and that's how I'll always remember him....quiet/reserved at family reunions and on his best behavior. I didn't know the young man and soldier of late, but just knowing that he thought enough of his country, family and freedom to join the military speaks volumes of his character. I love you both and want you to know I am thinking about you every day.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Lindsey family in the loss of James. I did not know James, but my heart is broken and I am saddened for your loss of such a fine young person and hero. May God bring you peace in your heart as you reflect on all the wonderful memories you hold so close. Please know that you are in my heart and prayers. My heart was touched by the many wonderful/beautiful things written about you. James you are my hero and you will NEVER be forgotten.
I send each of you a hug from the most inner part of my heart.

I am so very sorry about Jamie. When I heard of his passing, I was in shock and felt like I had been stabbed in the heart. Anne loved playing with Jamie. One of the most vivid memories I have is Jamie pushing Anne around our house in her "Cozy Coupe". I also remember Jamie and Anne at Christmas 1995. Jamie was so gentle and sweet to Anne and I'll always be grateful for that. If I could take away the pain you're feeling, I would do in a heartbeat. There is absolutely nothing that hurts worse than the loss of a child. I also wanted to say how proud I was to see what a fine young man Jamie grew up to be. Although I hadn't seen him in several years, I could tell from the newspaper photo of him that he had indeed become a very fine young man. It was evident that he had found his niche in life and was doing what he loved. You should be proud of the man he became. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers will be with you always.

I still have a hard time finding the right words. Tony and Genice you both did a great job raising a HERO. I never dreamed there would be a HERO in the family, much less the little skinny pester bug I remember so well! He was so funny. He and Dee Dee could keep me laughing for hours. The last time I spent time with him it was the Vaden reunion several years ago. While Dee Dee and I where "helping" Aunt Shirl and Aunt Bet, Jamie was hiding and pelting us with ice. I wish I had got to know the man Jamie had become. But I have my memories. I know Jamie is with Granny and Paw Paw. So we know he's working, they wouldn't have it any other way. I Love You little cuz!! I'll see you again in heaven.

Tony and Family,
It was evident watching Jamie grow up that he was a fine kid who loved his family and was loved by his family. I was always impressed with how mature and responsible he was growing up. He would lend a hand and spend time with the family, he was an all around good kid. He grew up to be a great man and a hero for us all. We wouldn't have the freedoms we have today or tommorow without heroes like Jamie. The last time I saw him he talked about jumping and you could see how dedicated and proud he was to be in the Army. He was doing something he enjoyed. His memory and sacrifice will not be forgotten.

Genice: I am deeply soory to hear about Jamie. May he rest in the Lord and may God keep you as well. I know you feel a loss that is beyond words. However, rest in the knowledge that he is in a better place where we all yern to be one day. I am sure if he could look down and say one thing to you it would be "I love you Mom". A soldiers life in combat is one of day by day. So I am sure he had a very special relationship with God and he was received with the greatest love of all. Jamie gave his all in honor and is a Hero by every meaning of the word. I pray for you and hope that soon you may find peace in the fact that Jamie was and will always be special to you and all that knew him. Do not let anything bring you down because you know you were a great Mom to Jamie. I said the soldiers pray when I heard about Jamie and was deeply sadened about the loss of a family member to the Iraq war. We are all here for you no matter what.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

I am so sorry to hear about another fallen! I know there are no words that I can say to ease your pain! The loss of a child is something that is the most difficult thing to bare. We can only pray that one day we will be together again. I was told that if you stretch a piece of string a mile long and line that string with beads, the beads would resemble eternity. Life here on earth is equal to “only one bead”. We have only a short time here compared to the time we will spend in eternity with our loved ones. The only thing I can say is let faith keep you grounded in your life and hold on to your loved ones! This will help you through! This is what helps me get through my days, I too have lost. My son entered into the Heavens to be with our Lord!
God Bless Your Family!

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

Please know how Deeply Sorry I am, for the loss of
this Brave Young Soldier, Spc. James T. Lindsey,
As a parent, who has lost a daughter suddenly,
and as a sister, who has lost a brother to war,
I am aware of the deep and devastating pain
that you are experiencing.
The overwhelming heartache, seems to surface
through our shock, as the time passes.
Please hang on to your Faith and know that you will get through this.
Ever so softly and slowly, time does heal.
May James Rest Safely, in the Loving Care of God
and know that he Will Never Be Forgotten.
I pray that the Peace of God will be with the Lindsey family.
I am the sister, of such a Young Hero, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, many years ago.
"Cast thy burden upon the Lord,
and He shall sustain thee."
~ Psalm 55:22 ~
I sincerely hope that you can feel the thoughts of caring and support that surround you today and in the days ahead, as this Country Mourns with you, for Someone Very Precious to you, Who Is A Hero to all of us.
