I have some great news for you son...we are having a little boy!!!! I know that you already know, but I just wanted to share the news with you myself. You should have been there, and seen your sister and Trey. Treylin was also so excited. She says she's going to call him "Bubba". What a honor that will be to you! I love and miss you soooo much, and I think of you everyday. I'm now in grief counseling, to help me to live on honoring you, and not being so sad all of the time. I know that you would not want that for me, but it is so hard to go on. I know that you would want me to be happy, and take care of your family. I wear a tattoo honoring you, and I am now learning how to live my life doing the same. I am remembering the good times that we shared, and not all the sad times of you not being here. I talked to Haas yesterday, and he misses you too. He is coming home here for my graduation, which by the way will be in 59 more days! I have worked really hard, and I promise you that I will continue the work. I have changed everything (well almost) about my old behavior, and I really feel such peace inside that I have never felt before. I know that you are walking with the One that made the change in me, and one day soon, I will be walking with the both of you. Until then, just know that I am doing the next right thing, so that I can insure that becoming reality for us both. I love you so much, and I can't wait until that day!

I don't know where to start, son. I am in the transition phase of Shining Light, and I know that you are smiling down on me, because I can feel you. I have made so many mistakes in my life, and I have been given the chance to get my life together. I want you to know that most days, I do this for me, but there are also days that I do this for you, and Kay. Kay is expecting a baby in November, and the plans are to name the baby after you, whether boy or girl. You should see Treylin. Oh my gosh!!! She is so precious, and loves you so. You were one of the most intelligent people that I ever met, and Treylin has inherited that from you. I know that she is mine, but she is so far above her age. Kay and Trey are awesome parents, and they love her so. Kay has really worked with her, and it shows. I have worked really hard on myself for these past nine months, and I have learned alot about myself. I had to change EVERYTHING about myself. I have a personal relationship with Jesus, and my life is second to none, and I haven't even completed the program yet. I graduate in August, and I know that you will be there with me. I miss you soooo much, and I think about you everyday. I sit here with tears streaming down my face, as I write this. I heard the song "I Can Only Imagine" today, and I stopped dead in my tracks. I think about the day that I see you again, and I wonder what I will do when that happens. I know that I will be praising & honoring God, but I will also be so glad to see you again. I can't wait for both!!! I know that you are proud of me, and that you are cheering me on. I want you to know that I will live the rest of my life as a Fallen Hero's Mom, and I will forever give you the respect and honor that you so deserve. I love you with ALL of my heart, and I send you kisses and hugs everyday in my prayers. Are you getting them? Take care and know that you are my precious son, and my favorite soldier.
With All My Love,
Mom

Adrian, it is so hard to believe that it has been three years....God, I miss you so much! Kay is doing good but misses you so. I know how much you loved Treylin...you were so proud. You should see her now. She is so much like you in so many ways. Her eyes..it's just like looking at you. Her mannerisms and clearly her personality is that of you....she reminds me so much of you at that age. She talks about her Uncle Bubba and knows exactly who you are and that you are now in Heaven with Jesus. Kaylin takes her to the grave site often...she always lifts the cover over your picture and gives you a kiss before she leaves. She visits with flowers, M&Ms...and all sorts of things that she likes to share with you. While she doesn't yet quite understand, she will always know and never forget who you are or how much you loved her. That was a promise I made to you just before you left for Iraq. I love you and miss you so much..but am so proud of the sacrifice you so willingly gave for your family and your country. Josh is getting married on June 19th...you would really like Sara. You will be missed there. Our lives are so different since we got the news 3 years ago....apart of us is missing and I'm not sure any of us know how to get past that....nor do I think we want to. Granny and Paw Paw have been affected by your leaving more than words can express....they are completely devastated and I don't believe their hearts will ever heal from the devastation of losing you. Please know that this is a sad time for your family even though our memories of you continue to fill our lives with joy, smiles, and the sense of your presence daily. I love you so much! Aunt Wiece

To the family of Pfc. Worthington: I frequently travel the section of highway in Hampton/Lovejoy dedicated to the memory of your loved one. I have wondered why that section of highway was dedicated to him - and I sought to find out a little more about the soldier for whom's memory I see almost daily in my travels. I now know more about him. I read his mother's words and cried. He is a true hero. He will not be forgotten. May God bless his family - thank you for what he gave to those of us who will never know him personally.

To the family and parents of Robert I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you.

Adrian, it has been a year since we received the news that would change our lives, our hearts forever. Please know that you are in my thoughts and in my heart everyday. I miss you so much!! Treylin is the most incredible little girl...the absolute joy of our lives. She has a personality so similar to yours..she's always happy, always smiling and loves everybody. She knows who Uncle Bubba is and loves giving your pictures kisses. Her expressions, her eyes remind me so much of you when you were little. She will grow up learning and knowing who her Uncle Bubba is. Kaylin is busy planning her wedding for September...what a beautiful bride she will be! Adrian, thank you for being a hero to our nation....you've always been our hero. All my love.....Aunt Wiece

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Robert, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Dear Worthington family,
I know time has not healed all that you are holding inside. It seems as if this is not real and they should be coming home, we went through it on Kris' first deployment...the time goes by and the tears aren't consuming the days but they still come, however infrequent. They are still our heroes, though the time has numbed us. We will never forget Adrian's courage and patriotism, and we are so glad as a family that neither of our boys had to go alone..they traveled as soldiers do...together.

We learned of your loss today while visiting your family's tree farm which we have been visiting for at least 22 years. I also went to school with Bobby. Please know that our deepest sympathy is with your entire family. Robert's ultimate sacrifice for our country is most admirable. Even though it has been 7 months, we will continue to keep you all in our thoughts, as we are sure the pain and sadness are still with you.

BABY, I SIT HERE TRYING TO FIND THE WORDS TO EXPRESS HOW I AM FEELING RIGHT NOW, BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO EXPRESS SUCH EMOTIONS IN WORDS. YOU HAVE ALWAYS MADE ME SO VERY PROUD OF YOU. NOT FOR ANY SPECIAL REASON, BUT JUST FOR BEING YOU. WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH ALOT OF "STUFF" TOGETHER--SOME GOOD, SOME NOT SO GOOD--BUT NONETHELESS, IT WAS "OUR" STUFF, AND THAT'S WHAT MADE OUR RELATIONSHIP SO SPECIAL. I KNOW THAT AS ALL MOM'S, I'VE MADE MY SHARE OF MISTAKES. ONE THING IS FOR SURE, WHEN I SIT BACK AND LOOK AT THE MAN YOU HAVE BECOME, AND THE WOMAN KAY HAS BECOME, I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT I DIDN'T DO IT ALL WRONG. YOU WERE MY FIRST BORN, AND I WILL NEVER FORGET THE FIRST TIME THAT I FELT YOU MOVE INSIDE OF ME. YOU WERE THE FIRST ONE TO KNOW ME INSIDE AND OUT! NOT ONLY WAS I YOUR FIRST FRIEND, BUT I WAS YOU ONLY FRIEND WHILE YOU GREW INSIDE OF ME. THE DAY THAT YOU WERE BORN, WAS THE FIRST HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!! THE JOY, HAPPINESS, LOVE, LAUGHTER, AND TEARS THAT YOU HAVE BROUGHT INTO MY LIFE CAN NEVER BE MEASURED. THAT DAY THAT I CAME TO FORT GILLEM FOR YOUR "SWEARING IN", I KEPT WATCHING DIFFERENT GUYS WALK AROUND IN THEIR MILITARY UNIFORMS FROM DIFFERENT BRANCHES OF THE SERVICE. IT WAS THAT VERY DAY, THAT I REALIZED THAT THERE WASN'T A SINGLE "BOY" WALKING AROUND-- THAT INCLUDED YOU-- ALL THAT I SAW WAS MEN. YOU GREW INTO A MAN RIGHT BEFORE MY EYES, AND I KNOW THAT YOU ARE ONE HELL OF A MAN AT THAT!!! JUST ALWAYS KNOW THAT YOU STOLE MY HEART FROM THE TIME THAT I CONCEIVED YOU, AND YOU HAVE TAKEN IT WITH YOU. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I WILL EVER LEARN TO LIVE WITHOUT YOU HERE. THE PAIN I FEEL IS MORE THAT I CAN HANDLE AT TIMES. MY HEART IS BROKEN, SHATTERED, AND WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. I DON'T THINK THERE IS A MOM ALIVE THAT LOVES HER SON ANYMORE THAN I LOVE YOU. YOU ARE MY A#1, MY SON, MY HERO, AND MY FAVORITE SOLDIER. KNOW THAT KAY IS OK, BUT MISSES YOU TERRIBLY. TREYLIN IS "OFF THE CHAIN", AND WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HER UNCLE BUBBA. I LOVE YOU...I MISS YOU...I'M SO VERY PROUD OF YOU...I HAVE UTMOST RESPECT FOR YOU...AND KNOW THAT I'M DOING IT THIS TIME FOR YOU...I PROMISE.
REST IN PEACE, BABY
WITH ALL MY LOVE,
MOM

Dear Bubba,
You were really to young for this to have happened to you, but God has plans for all of us and his plan for you was to make you a true hero in all of our eyes and you truly are, Eric, Rachel and I will never Forget you Bubba. I would for all who reads this to listen to the song by Tim Mcraw "If youre reading this" every time I hear this song I think of Bubba and will forever.
God Bless you Bubba. Our Smiling Soldier.

August 14, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

My dear Adrian...there are no words that could express how I feel right now...there are no words that could express how much I love you...how much I miss you....how proud I am of you! You were always my hero....you are now everyone's hero. I've been told that time will heal some of the hurt but nothing will heal the void that is now left in my heart...in the hearts of our family...You will always be...."My Favorite Soldier"..I love you...Aunt Wiece

To the family of Robert Worthington. While I didn't know your son ,I met him once at Ft. Benning. He and my nephew went to Basic and AIT together. With three immediate family members serving in Iraq and two including My nephew TJ Finley on the way I worry and pray for our soliders everyday. I wish to send my deepest regards, sympathy, prayers, thanks and respect to you and your family in this time of sorrow.May God comfort you in his loving arms and wipe the sorrow from your heart. Again my deepest respect as a vetran goes to the young men who pay the ultimate price for our freedom and the freedom of others. Some talk about what we should do, others quietly and humbly do what must be done. They stand the watch between us and chaos. I and this country owe you a endless amount or thanks for what your son, my son and others have done. God bless you and keep you.

Bobby and Rhonda
Words cannot express the feeling that you are going through now, but i pray that that the sacrifice that Adrain, and your family have given to the world is not in vain. Bobby you told me he was proud of what he was doing, May the word of many help you in these very HARD times. It will seem like life has no meaning now, but you must carry on. My family and GODS church has been praying for all of you. Remember "All things are possible through CHRIST who strenghten me".

I did not know Robert personally but my prayers are with every member of his family.I lost My cousin this past October- he was killed in Taji, Iraq.My husband is currently serving in Iraq. It's because of brave men like Robert that we have the freedom we do today. He is An American Hero and will not be forgotten.

I don't even know what to say. I have been at a loss since his uncle told me last Wednesday. I hate seeing the Worthington family hurt, that breaks my heart more than you can imagine. I am hurting for you and all I can say is that God says that what the enemy means for harm, He will turn for good. I have to believe that at this time, God already has a plan to use this to help others and glorify His name. That may not help today, but be assured that He is in control and He loves each of you more than you could ever love anyone. May the peace that passes all understanding rest on and in you today and always. I will continue to pray that you all find your peace in the One who originated it and that you will allow Him to heal you. He said He came to set the captives free, allow His freedom to reign in your hearts and minds. I speak peace and comfort to you in Jesus' name. I believe that wonderful, polite, strong, funny Adrian is at peace. I really do. I love you all like my own family. I'm sorry.

Mere words cannot fully express the sorrow and grief that I feel at this time for the loss of your son, brother, grandson, and uncle. I so much appreciate the sacrifice that he has made, as well as the sacrifice that you have made. Freedom isn't free, but with Heroes such as your soldier fighting for us, we will always remain free. Please know how Deeply Sorry I am, for the loss of
your Brave Young Soldier, Pfc. Robert A. Worthington.
As a parent, who has lost a daughter suddenly,
and as a sister, who has lost a brother to war,
I am aware of the deep and devastating pain
that you are experiencing.
The overwhelming heartache, seems to surface
through our shock, as the time passes.
Please hang on to your Faith and know that you will get through this. Ever so softly and slowly, time does heal.

May Robert Rest Safely, in the Loving Care of God
and know that he Will Never Be Forgotten.
I pray that the Peace of God will be with the Worthington family.
I am the sister, of such a 19 Year Young Hero, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, many years ago.

"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee."
~ Psalm 55:22 ~

I sincerely hope that you can feel the thoughts of caring and support that surround you today and in the days ahead, as this Grateful Country Mourns with you, for Someone Very Precious to you, Who Is A Hero to all of us.
