Thanks for all the extra time you put into training us. I now have a wife with 3 kids of my own. They all know your name and of your sacrifice. I tell them that I was lucky to have met the real life Superman. I tell them how you'd let me borrow the newest Smallville seasons. I still haven't moved past the last season you loaned me. Deeds Not Words! Until Valhalla brother.

Tim,
Happy Belated Birthday in Heaven. May God hold you in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Birthdays In Heaven

Are there birthdays in Heaven?
Does the angel blow his horn?
Announcing to everybody
That this is the day you were born?

Can the stars be your balloons
And angel food your cake?
Presents wrapped in moonbeams
All the angels helped to make.

Birthdays meant so much to you
They were always a big deal
Birthday presents, lots of friends
And perhaps a special meal.

So we'll whisper a little prayer today
Asking everyone up above
To sing you a Happy Birthday song
And give you all our love.

Hey Cowboy,
It's been about nine months that you have been gone.I ask God everyday why he had to take you away. I wrote you a poem yeah I know Otty writting poetry! I wrote it to maybe give an understanding of what we all were feeling that day we found out and how it never leaves us. That space will never be filled. All we can hope is where ever you are you are happy and we will see you again someday. Well, here it goes...

A great American Hero has been laid to rest
I knew him well, he was the best of the best
We all got in the car to see if it was true
To see if Superman was gone, it couldn't be true
We all tried to convince ourselves it couln't be Tim
We all found out soon... Yeah, it was him
With tears in our eyes we said our goodbyes
We were all tight like brothers, thats the truth, no lies
I'm going to let go now but will never forget
Tim was my friend and there was no regret
We will all be able to party together again
But right now all good things must come to an end
I wish I could see that big grin on your face
I guess someday I will, another time in another place

I miss ya brother

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

To the family of Sgt. Timothy R. Van Orman,

We buried my brother Sgt. John C. Osmolski on Friday the 15th, and at his service my mom had a letter read on her behalf where she thanked your soldier Sgt. Van Orman. " In God’s word, Psalm 127:3, it says, “Children are a gift from the Lord.” And now that the gift of my son John has been called home to his Heavenly father I can only bow and thank God for the joy that John gave me over the years ordained to us.

I want to thank you, John’s fellow soldiers, for standing beside him, guiding him, loving him, laughing with him, and sharing the same love for America. Because of this love, you all voluntarily stepped forward to willingly sacrifice your lives for the valuable freedom and principles of our country.

I have asked the pastor to pray now for you and the families of SPC Miguel A. Baez and SGT Timothy R. Van Orman, the two soldiers who, with my son last Tuesday, laid down their lives for our freedom."

On behalf of my family we Thank you and your soldier and send our deepest condolences for your loss along with our love and our prayers.

There are not words to express the pain and sympathy but I just wanted to say that Tim was my friend and that he is missed. This is a poem that gave me some comfort. I hope that it may bring some to those who read it also.

Don’t think of him as gone away-
His journey’s just begun
Life holds so may facets-
This earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.

And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he touched…
For nothing loved is ever lost-
And he was loved SO MUCH.

February 15, 2008

The soldier stood and faced his God
which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining, just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, you soldier. How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns, can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent
because the streets are awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny, that wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
when the bills just got too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help, though at times
I shook with fear
And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears

I know I don't deserve a place, among the people here
They never wanted me around, except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand
I never expected or had too much,
but if you don't I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne,
where the saint's had often trod
As the soldier waited quietly, for the judgement of his God.

"Step forward now you soldier, you've borne your burdens well,
Walk peacefully on Heaven's street,
you've done your time in Hell."

My deepest sympathy to the family of SGT Timothy Van Orman. Your service to your country and the sacrifice of your life for the freedoms we all enjoy speaks to the person you were. Although we have never met we have something forever in common. While I celebrated my 60th birthday on 2/5/08 you sir gave your life for me, and our country. Thank you. I am sure you have a special place in heaven where the peace you tried to give to the people of Iraq is eternal. I am so sorry you will not be there to see your childs first birthday but have to believe you will be looking down on her with pride. Rest in peace Soldier, good job well done.

Cadie,

My family would like to extend our deepest sympathy to you, your daughter and Tim’s family. Tim made the greatest sacrifice of all for his family, his friends and fellow veteran’s protecting the rights of all people not just American’s. Tim is a hero and someone that all people should look up to as he had the courage and conviction to do what was right. May your daughter grow up to be like Tim and know that he loved her more then life itself. May God be with you and know that Tim will always be with you in spirit and that he loved you very very much.

Tim,

May the sun always be on your face
May the wind give you wings
May your soul rest in peace
May you be proud of Cadie and your daughter for their courage
Thank you for your courage, conviction and service
May God be with you

TO The FAMILY, Wife and Child.

I just wanted to write to say how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I don't know what it's like to lose a spouse but I do know the pain of losing someone that precious and close. I lost my sister 3 weeks ago in a tragic accident.

I read in the paper what was wrote by Mrs Van Orman wrote and it brought a river of tears. All I can say is it sounds like you're a very strong woman. I know it will be very difficult but continue to be that way for your child. She will need that in you, your strength.

May God and Sgt Van Orman watch over you all and be there in your hearts forever. Which will keep him alive.

Thank Sgt Van Orman for protecting anf fighting for our rights and liberties. For that alone you are my families hero. In death you are even more a HERO because you died protecting all of our families.

Cadie, Halie & VanOrman Family & Fields Family...
We are all proud of Tim, the troops and all they sacrifice. 20+ years as a military wife you see the sacrifices a spouse and family face daily. I only wished that you did not have to walk the path you are now in. Be strong, lean on our wonderful family as they are there for you now and always. You and Halie are in our thoughts and prayers always, as is Tim and his family. God Bless you and may the Angles watch over you and Halie forever!
