Hello,

We apologize for being so late in expressing our deepest condolences to you and your family. We want you to know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this holiday season and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Jevon K. Jordan US Army Sergeant.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families, friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Sincerely,

In loving memory of a good man gone too soon. He was not perfect but he was a great father, son, friend and brother. Your son finally is a man and is dealing with your death all over again. Any of your fellow soldiers that served with you, please reach out to my grandson Anthony Jevon and share your stories with him. He was a boy when his dad died and now he would love to hear your stories, have pictures and memorabilia about his father. He has a Facebook page. If you would like to email him, please send me or post your contact information. Thanks

I met your family at the ball after you were gone. We sat at the table with them and it's so hard. My husband still thinks of you and still has never really spoken much about that day and what happend to you guys vehicle other than they all tried so hard to help get you over to the helicopter so they could fly you out for medical. Idk why I was drawn to this website but I hope maybe your family will see this and know you are still thought of everyday. Thoughts and prayers always.

I know when I speak to Tony he talks about the old car that you and he were going to restore or the car that you were going to build. I found the perfect car for Tony and I am trying to get it to him.

He was so proud of the time you all spent talking about cars.

I am doing my best to make this thing happen so that he could have a car to be safe in and to build as his own.

Son, I do not want to let Anthony, John or Crystal Down. I know you are watching over all of us, so please smile on the car that I give to him and keep him safe. I know that he is very responsible but he is somewhat impulsive as well.

I miss you and will always be thankful for giving me a wonderful, loving caring and devoted grandson.

Hi Jevon,
We never met, but my husband talks about you all the time, there's never a moment where you're not thought bout! We go by your tree everytime we visit GA, and we look at your pictures, and we remember the good times you and my husband had! I don't know how to speak what I'm trying to say but you we're supposed to go home on leave, but instead you let my husband go :/ I'm so very thankful but I never forget how you lost your life, and that could of been him, I'm not dwelling on the time, it happened, nothing could of stopped it! But I just wish things would of happened differently. You we're such a amazing father, leader, & much more, a friend to my husband, he calls you family!

If his wife, or kids see this give us a call please, we have alot of memories and other photo's we like to share...

Jevon, March 29th will mark 4 years and i still miss you like it was yesterday. We will never know why God took you so early, however, i smile knowing that i will see you again and you are looking down on us. I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU!!!

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

Jevon,
It is hard to believe that it is going on 3 years since you were taken away from your son. Its a shame you missing out on how much his grown to be just like you ( and I mean Just Like You)from everything to the way you would Rub your head when you are thinking about something, to the way you put on that Big Grin and widen your eyes to get what you wanted. To even doing some of the same things you would to make me laugh and smile. LOL! It is amazing. When I look a him everyday I am still seeing you no matter what I do. You would be so proud of him and I am not just saying that, you really would. From his A/B adverage with his grades to his great Football abilities, and not to mention Track and Band. He is staying busy and out of trouble and I am so thankful to have him as a son....Im even more thankful that he got to know you as a father. Just keep watching over him...He Loves and Misses You Dearly.

Son-IN-Law

Just a note to say that I enrolled Tony in his first Football Camp last week. He is so excited. He is at the College of William and Mary and he gets to meet the Washington Red Skins Players. Today is his last day and guess what he fractured his finger. He is still getting to watch and learn plays but only got two days of play time. :-(. He reminds me so much of you because you were always fragile like that. When ever you had a football game or a track meet, you either got hurt or had an Asthma attack. :-).

It is something that Tony wanted so I made it happen. I paid for him to go to Florida for the Summer and because he missed his flight , he missed the football camp here in Florida. I had to pay for him to fly back to Virginia to go to the Camp there because it was the last one for the season. He was so excited because my niece dates one of the San Diego Chargers. He gets to meet him. He is also excited because he did not know many of the football greats come from right here in little Ocala Florida.

He is a good kid. John And Crystal will need to give him some Cod Liver Oil or Geritol to strengthen his bones.
:-)

He really wants to play defensive line and offensive Back. I will do all that I can to push him. He is also in the Band and did good this year. Next year he said he wants to do track to keep his strength up in his legs. He is a fast runner like you and Crystal.

Watch over your son from where you are. You are his Angel now. He never saw you smoke and drink or do drugs. Help us shelter him from worldly influences. You were a good role model in those areas. God bless you for that. He needs to feel your presence sometimes. He holds on to the dog tag and never takes them off. I think he does not even take it off to take a shower.

We miss you son. As Popu and I told you on Father's day, at your Grave, we will do all that we can to be positive influences in his life. I know that you always wanted the best for your children. You did not have to leave us for that to happen. Anyway, we will take care of him for you. God knew that your soul was tired and called you to rest and away from this stress. Rest in Peace until next time Ma-Dukes!! (Sweetheart)as you and Corey called me. Smile as I know you are.

Jevon and Family.

It is hard to believe that you have been gone for one year and a month.

As I sit here remembering you and the conversations we had I really miss you. I knew that you would have always taken care of not just Tony but all of your family.

I am so sorry that I did not get to do what you wanted me to do. I know that where ever your spirit is you know that I would have done the same for you as I would have for Crystal, Corey and any of the other children in my life. God bless you. I am so happy that you gave of your self to your family while you were here. God love you and so do we.

I see so much of you in Tony. I know that you will live on through all of us who loved you. You were my son and my son-in-law. You never divorced me or the children. You and Crystal broke up but you were still a father and a friend and a son.

I promise to take care of them for you and also try to connect with Michelle for Tony and her children's sake.

I know that you wanted them to stay close and I will try to keep that part of you alive.

It is sad that the last convrsation we had was me telling you I would help you with the D.

God knows. S is leaving and it might help Tony to move on. He cannot take your place in her life. He has to be a part of Michelle and her family because that is how you left things.

Just missing you and stillnot believing you are not here.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Jevon, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

April 27, 2008

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

To the rest of Jevon's family which includes Sheila, Pearl, Cookie, Kentrell, Quarmine, Kat, Crystal Laura, Latoya and Tony, just know that God is not mocked, what a man soweth, that also shall he reap. Weaping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. Jevon is resting now awaiting the resurrection.

We all know that Jevon would have done things differently. We must wait for God to grant us comfort and peace. Remember that he died working hard and we all know how he loved working on cars or anything else with an engine. He was a one in a million man who I loved calling my son -in-law. I knew him since third grade he called me "mom and sweetheart." He was a great father and wonderful son.

No one can erase the joy his smile brought to all of our lives. All of my 9 grandchildren will miss him including Bry and Justiss.

I honor you Jevon with this poem that I found in the Navy exchange:

I Have You In My Heart

I have you in my heart, And there you'll always be.

AS I dwell amongs the Angels In Peace and harmony.

Pray for strength and courage Please do not feel dismay.

Know that love surrounds me in HIS perfect presence today.

Life is forever changed because for now we are apart,

So until our Heavenly reunion I HAVE you in my heart.

Author unknown

To my family and my grandchildren with love, Javon is always around just look at Tony and Michelle, they each have a permanent characteristic of their Dad

We loved him but God loved him best, farewell son Farewell, Farewell Nanna

We can only begin to imagine the sorrow that comes along with losing someone so close to your heart. May cherished memories bring you peace and comfort. Please know that our hearts ache in unison with yours at the loss of this young man, a special hero who made the ultimate sacrifice for the values we hold so dear in America. Our thoughts are with you.

April 14, 2008

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I would also like to tell you about a website, http://groups.msn.com/SSPSoldierPor
traits/homepage,
where some wonderful people will make wood portraits of your fallen Hero for free for the immediate family. I became aware of this site when I wanted to do something special for Le Ron’s mother.

Life is so precious and sometimes we all take it for granted. Thank you for fighting for our freedom so that we can live our lives in peace and harmony. I know that some people do not agree with war but when you see pictures of men, women and children over in Iraq that are thankful for what you're doing to help their country it makes it all worth it. You gave the ultimate sacrifice and people like me and my family are very grateful for your bravery.

It's always hard when a member of our military family makes the ultimate sacrifice for his country. As I reflect on how hard this must be for his family I hope they find comfort in the knowledge that God has a plan for all of us, and though we may not always understand we must find peace in knowing that Jevon is not truly gone and will never be forgotten. He is simply in a better place waiting for us all to join him. God bless.

Jevon,

I know we had our good times and I think I only remember 1 bad time we had together (in the seems) like lifetime that I have known you. Come to think about it, it was bad only because you left. You know someone asked me along time ago who was my dream guy and my response was you, Jevon K. Jordan we are going to get married when we graduate. Even though that was as far back as 3rd Grade LOL it seems like yesterday. But as fate would have it, it was not in the cards for us. I’m sorry. Jevon, I Love you for the person you were and I Love you even more for being the wonderful father to our son. You were a wonderful friend who saw the good in everyone you can across, and no matter what the situation you always left a room full of smiles. Jevon, your son is your Legacy and he has promised to take care of his sister just as he promised you. No matter what I do and where we go I will have the privilege of seeing you everyday threw your. Anthony (Tony) Jevon Jordan Christman.

To the family and parents of Jevon I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many question as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There are no right or wrong ways to grieve, it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
