Jordan Thibeault Obituary

Jordan P. Thibeault 1986 ~ 2008 As a family, we would like to announce the loss of our son and brother Jordan P. Thibeault to the cause of liberty in Iraq. While we feel enormous grief and loss, we want to explain why our son's passing should be heralded by each and every one of us. Mankind today is faced with terrible calamities. Only a select few are willing to forgo comforts of home, indeed the very promise of a bright future, to place themselves between the forces of hate and oppression and the human spirit yearning for peace and safety. Jordan did not go to Iraq to protect America but to protect mankind. Young and eager to answer the cause of Liberty, Jordan followed his inner core of beliefs, taught by loving parents and family members, to ensure the peoples of Iraq were assured a chance of achieving peace and prosperity. His passing should give hope to all that there are still those among us who are willing to give the ultimate sacrifice to keep mankind safe and free. We honor all men and women in uniform and will continue to pray for each and every one of them as well as their families. Jordan is survived by his parents, John and Celeste Poulin Thibeault and sister, Denise. Preceded in death by all of his grandparents, Theodore N. and Denise Paquet Thibeault and Lawrence G. and Virginia Bolduc Poulin. Funeral Services will be held Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, 11 a.m. at River Ridge Stake Center, 10194 So. 1000 W. A viewing will held Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.). No viewing Monday. Interment South Jordan City. Love Lives On

Those we love remain with us
for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade
because a loved one's gone.
Those we love can never be
more than a thought apart,
far as long as there is memory,
they'll live on in the heart.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Family and Friends of of US Army Pvt. J.P. Thibeault. I want the family to know that on June 20th during the Illinois Freedom Run, I was Honored to read this young mans name, along with my Son's, US Army Cpl. Michael Eyre Thompson, as they were added to the Wall of Honor. Our Sons are Great American Hero's and their names adore Monuments all across this Great Country of ours. I also recieved (as pure coincidence) Pvt. Thibeault's dogtag during these ceremonies in Illinois and would be proud to send it to you if you would like. After reading the heartwarming condolences to your Son, I know how special EVERY Son and Daughter is. Your Son will always be special to me and I promise you he will never be forgotten

To the family and parents of Jordan I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you

Dear Celeste, John and Denise

I was browsing the NET and I realized that a grand-child of my cousin Norman (Ted) died in Iraq at the beginning of September 2008.

I remember seeing you John, for the last time, with your father, mother, brothers and sister about 35-40 years ago in Waterville. Your grand-mother Rose-Aimée and aunt Gert (Simone) were with me, my father and mother.

Your son’s obituary is very touching. I am deeply sorry about his death.

NOW, WE HAVE A HERO IN THE FAMILY !

Take care, God Bless you !

I am proud to be an American. When terror struck our land and the world stood and watched the towers fall, the Pentagon burn, and the planes crash we called upon our military to answer. And they did. It is with great honor and many tears I sat and read the beautiful tribute to a young man I do not know but feel compelled to thank. I saluate you Jordon P. Thibeault, I bow my head a minute to pray for your family as they deal with losing you. May you sit in your glory and watch over the many thousands of people your devotion has touched. For those still here on Earth we thank you.
God Bless!

It is with deep saddness and unending compasson for your family that we sign this guestbook for your son. My husband, Tom Cassidy (Winslow, Maine), is acquainted with your family and his sister, Peggy, called last night to share this sad news with us. Unfortunately, Tom is at sea at present and not able to do this himself, but I know he would have wanted you to know that our family's prayers and thoughts are with you at this time of loss. We thank you for the sacrifice you made by supporting Jordan in his quest for peace, and we thank Jordan for his strength of conviction, undying faith, and patriotism - it is because of people like Jordan, that we can truly believe in the promise of the future despite the hurts of today.

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen

Thank you so much for raising a son who could see a bigger vision than hinself. It takes a sage soul and a big heart to wear the uniform at such a young age.

I pray for each time I pass your home and hope there is some solace in the gold star that now hangs there.

I am truly sorry for you loss. War and death never can never take away the pain in the heart. The feeling of powerlessness when a loved one is gone. Rest assured that one day those who are peaceable will inherit the earth according to the promise in the Bible. Proverbs 2:21,22. One day soon we will be able to welcome back our dead loved ones.

Dear John, Celeste & Denise,
We are so sorry for your loss. You have been in our hearts, thoughts and prayers since we first heard of Jordan's passing. I cannot begin to imagine the pain in your hearts as there is no greater sacrifice a parent can be asked to make. Jordan leaves this earth having been loved by wonderful parents, a sister, aunts, uncles and cousins. I have watched you as parents since Jordan was very young and you gave so much love, understanding and encouragement. He was very brave to go forward to protect the freedom we all share. I hope you find peace in your hearts as Jordan finds his own peace in heaven. Our deepest condolences, Patti & Mike Ball

I also want you to know that I fondly remember your mom and dad (Ted & Denise) and my mother-in-law worked for years with Celeste's mom (Virginia) at the high school and junior high. At this time I would like to thank your family for your great sacrifice of your son. As a mother of a son who was deployed when the war broke out I know how a mother worries yet is so proud of what decision our children make. I love this great country and every time I see the flag I get tears in my eyes and my heart swells inside when I think of those brave men and women who represent freedom and love for mankind. Your son is truly a hero and may Our Heavenly Father bless your family with his love and peace at this time.

To the Thibeault Family,
I wept aloud when I read the tribute you wrote of your son. Your description of Jordan's personal beliefs of knowing and understanding the world and our place in it were enlightening far and away beyond the expectation of a man so young. Through this narrative you have asked us to look at our collective situation, what we truly believe, and decide what is in our heart of hearts and then act on it. We must be willing to defend the world as we defend ourselves. I am not likely to forget what you have written about your son. Certainly he would be proud of you as you clearly are of him. Thank you so very much for sharing your hearts and in doing so helping us to understand much more than we ever thought we could. I am terribly sorry for your loss.

September 12, 2008

I do not know your family or your son, but I do wish to offer my deepest sympathy and love in your time of grief. Your son gave his life, the ultimate sacrifce for the simple, daily pleasures we live everyday in our free country. Because of brave, self-less men and women serving our country, I feel safe, secure and peaceful each night I tuck my children into bed.

Your family will be in my heart, prayers, and thoughts.
God bless you and your son.

Our hearts are with you..These service men and women are all heros! They have put their lives and dreams on hold for the price of all of our freedom and some like Jordan have paid the ultimate price for it. (We too have a son-in-law, Nate Hardy (SEAL) who died in Iraq in Feb this year.) They believed, totally, in their cause!
Evil has many faces and I thank the Lord that we have brave upstanding people in our country to fight for our and others freedom....

As a grateful American who did not know your son, but feel compelled to give a moment of my life to thank him and others who have died in the honor of this great Nation... I offer my thanks. My family and I will forever be blessed with the freedom Jordan and so many others have given their life for. I am among a host of thousands who are so grateful for living in a country that is home to so many valiant, honorable heroes. As a mother of two teenage boys I can only imagine the heartbreak you are experiencing and yet how proud you must be to have been chosen as parents to such a brave and unselfish man. However, I hope that in your moment of grief you will be uplifted and comforted by knowing so many of us Americans have you in our thoughts and prayers. Again as a proud American I offer my eternal gratitude for an "honorable job well done my brave and faithful son". God bless your family and this great Nation.

To the Thibeault family,

I know there are no words to say, except how sorry I am for your loss. May you hold Jordans' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.

...For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

Thank you so much for the beautiful tribute. This is a reminder to us all that there is still hope in the world and there are people willing to sacrafice everything because of their hope of making it a better world. Your son is an amazing example of that, and you, his family, sound very supportive of him. Thank you for your sacrafice. Your family is in my prayers.
