The flag is flying in the sky
A daily reminder of who and why
We sit here remembering them today
These heroes that now lie in their grave.
While here on earth, the bravest ones
A soldier, a mother, a daughter, a son
The father's who went far off to war
To ensure our safety and so much more
To keep our children happy and free,
Someone must do this job, you see
So, today remember the soldiers who served,
Because this is one thing they truly deserve.
The loved one's that they have left behind,
The Gold Star mothers, like your and mine
We honor them proudly, every day
Our American Soldier...Proud and Brave
By Shannon Williams-Austill
I want to thank this soldier for their sacrifice.
And, I wish to extend my deepest regards to the loved ones they have left behind. Their service to our nation, has not gone unnoticed. They are our heroes, who paid the ultimate price for us, and that is something that every American needs to be reminded of and remember everyday.
The freedom we all have, we have because of brave young men and women who made a choice to defend and serve.
Today, let me remember your loved one with you.

To the Hinkefent family:
May the comfort from family and friends continue to strengthen you, and may you find comfort in the words found in the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,000 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and want you know that everyone here at Project Compassion does and will always CARE.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
Kenna

Follow The Rainbow To Heaven.
=======================================
A Soldier had die out on the
battlefield;
Broken hearts are weeping For
Them,
But take comfort of knowing
that God had sent Them a
rainbow from heaven;
The Souls of the Soldiers
have gone to there home
in heaven,
Our Loved One's has follow
God's lovely rainbow in the
sky;
All the way to the end of the
sky.
That leads all the way to the
other end of the Lord's
house in heaven,
So just keep on praying and
trust that God will send us
that same rainbow in the sky;
Where Our Loved One's are
waiting For You and For Me at
the end of the rainbow in
heaven.

Dear Belinda and Eric Hinkefent,
I belong to the Prayer Shawl Ministry at my church, and we belong to the national group PS4FS (Prayer Shawls for Fallen Soldiers). We send prayer shawls to the family members of our fallen soldier heroes to show them that we care about them and we will not forget. Coleman sounds like he was a wonderful young man. We would be honored to send you a prayer shawl if you would like that in honor of Coleman. If we can do this for you, please contact me with your address. We sent you a card recently, but don't know if our address for you is correct. Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you. God Bless You.

Prayer for Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

To the Hinkefent family,
I know there are no words to say, except how sorry I am for your loss. May you hold Colemans' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.
...For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

To the parents and friends of Coleman Hinkefent, you are not along in this unspeakable sadness. We are Gold Star Parents, we know how much pain you are in, and how you are feeling. My son CWO2 Corry Edwards is in heaven with the other six heroes that died with him on September 18, 2008, when the Ch-47 Chinook Helicopter crashed. I know they are beside him. There are no words to describe the pain, when we must bury our children. Coleman is a hero.Sincerely: [email protected]

Coleman, I just wanted to say thank you for your brave and honorable service to a greatful nation. Like so many others you have volunteered to serve our country and protect the vary freedom America was built on. Please know John that you like so many other fallen brother and sisters in arms that you will never be forgotten and you are heroes to us all. My nephew PFC Aaron J. Ward also paid the ultimate price on 5/6/08 while on a routine patrol in Anbar Province as an MP. His unit was ambushed and came under small arms fire and he was taken from us. Not a day goes by that I do not think of him and all our brave heroes serving in our armed services. I stand tall and salute you Coleman and will forever honor the memory of you along with my nephew. To the Hinkefent family words cannot express enough the pain both our families now must endure and my prayer is that the memory of your brave hero carry you through each day as you cope with this tragic loss. Since the loss of my dear nephew I have written on every single legacy page of every fallen soldier and included a photo of my nephew. I encourage you to do the same to Aaron's page. I have done this to honor my nephew but to let you know that Coleman is not alone and my nephew is with him and they are now in God's gracious hands waiting for us to join them one day. From the bottom of my heart please except my sincere condolences and please feel free to write back when ever you would like. God Bless and we will always be thinking of our HEROES.

It is always difficult when we lose the ones we love, especially when they are taken so young. They say the biggest and brightest stars are short-lived because their beauty and radiance can only shine for a short while. My condolences go out to the family and friends of this bright and brave young star.

I did not know Coleman or his family, but I read his blog daily and several times throughout the day hoping and praying for healing. Why God did not choose healing on this earth, we will never know. I want to thank his family for sharing their sons life with the world. The story is inspiring. As an Army wife whose husband is Iraq, I have a special place in my heart for soldiers. May this brave young man rest peacefully. He fought the good fight and his rewards are in Heaven. My prayers to those who have been left behind.. his mom, dad, sisters, brother.. his young fiance... God bless you as you fight your own battle of grief.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Pfc. Coleman Hinkefent our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Coleman. And to Coleman it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country while serving in the U.S. Army. Coleman, we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,409 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Coleman’s family and loved ones.

Every death brings sorrow to those who are left behind; each soldier who wears the uniform of his or her country, with honor and courage, is a hero and I can see that this fine young man fought an insidious enemy with great courage and determination. At such a sad time I can only hope that you are surrounded by love and comfort and that the days and weeks ahead give you peace and time with your memories of this very special young man - one whose time on earth, short as it was, meant so much to so many people. His joyful personality simply beams out of the photo and it isn't difficult to see his good nature and laughter too.You are secure in your faith, and you brought your son up in the same light - God Bless you all.

PFC Hinkefent, what a brave, courageous man you were. I followed your story through your parents blog and what an incredibly moving story it was.
