Cwislyn K. Walter, 19, of Honolulu, a specialist with the Hawaii Army National Guard's 29th Brigade Combat Team, died. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by parents Kiwis and Conception; brothers Walter, Christopher and K.C.; and sisters Kcyleen and Carolyn. Services: 2 p.m. today at Borthwick Mortuary. Burial in Kolonia, Pohnpei, Micronesia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cwislyn's name to her parents. Additional information for an obituary printed yesterday.

Hello, I did not know SPC Walter but my husband was one of the first to respond to the accident. He's a medic stationed at Camp Ali Al Salem, Kuwait. He called me after and was very distraught, and it was so hard to console him. I can only imagine how her family and friends feel. She will always be in our lives as well even though we did not know her. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

Cwislyn was the youngest in our company and I was the oldest. Even though our paths didn't cross that often, she came across as a sweet spirit who will live on in those who remember her. My last memory was of her and my roommate (also involved in the accident) having fun with karaoke. I will miss her all of my days.

I remember the last time I saw her with my roommate who was also involved. in the accident They were having faughing and having fun singing karaoke. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Walter family. I went to basic with Cwislyn and we were in the same platoon. She was so happy, young, and alive. A spirit like that can never die...never.
