Together...We Will Not Forget...My name is Debbie Elam and I am the Chairman of the Virginia Memorial Quilt Project. Our group is making and presenting a numbered memorial quilt to the immediate family of each fallen hero since the 1983 attack on the Marine Barracks in Lebanon in and the Global War on Terror with ties to the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Hero may have been born, gone to school, lived in Virginia at sometime during their life or even trained for his military service in Virginia. We have a website at www.vmqp.com if you get a chance to see the quilts. We have honored 247 Virginia Gold Star Families with quilts as of this date. Please contact me via email ([email protected]) or phone at 804-397-5375 and I will get the information from you so we can send you a Memorial Quilt in honor of Hero. Thank you.Debbie Elam, Chairman Virginia Memorial Quilt Project P. O. Box 534Powhatan, VA 23139

Beloved Gold Star Family - My son, Steven, served with Niall. I am the Pres. of the Blue Star Mothers NJ3 and this past December we made wreaths to be placed on the resting places of our Fallen Heroes whom we had served at their time of passing. I told Steven we would be going to Arlington and he asked if we could place a wreath for Niall. We were most honored and I wanted to send you the pictures. We remember each Gold Star family and want you to know that you will NEVER nor will your Hero be forgotten. May you continue to feel the love from those who treasure our beloved sons and daughters who have paid the ultimate price for their country. We are here if you ever need us.

Niall,
I looked again at this page this evening because it has been a year since you left us. I was uplifted to read the messages given in your honor and want you to know that your life has a sacred meaning to so many. The Garden of Eaton, the music program being developed and dedicated in your honor through the Travis Manion Foundation, the memorial service at Arlington National Cemetery, the reception we hosted in your honor is all testament that your life is still celebrated and your legacy will remain strong. I love you and miss you my beautiful son. Peace be with you. Love, Mom

My beautiful son Niall was lost to us almost five months ago. How quickly the months pass and how slowly the pain remains. I am so very proud of Niall and the sacrifice
he made to try to bring some sanity to this crazy world. As Veterans' Day dawns I am aware of the sacrifice of so many men and women who gave their lives to freedom. I salute you all. Semper Fi.

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers ([email protected]) is an organization with groups throughout the country who strive to send handmade prayer shawls and/ or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA would like to honor your family's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a shawl which we will mail to you. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] with the names and addresses and what they would like to receive. We will send them as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address, as our organization can no longer get family contacts through the military. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Lynne

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Niall will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .
I Salute You.

I had the pleasure of being Niall's music teacher at John Eaton Elementary School. Recognizing the background of the photo as that school's playground, I also recognize in Niall's face the spark that I saw all those years ago. There were numerous occasions when Niall and I shared a joke solely through an exchange of glances. Having had him as a student and his mom as a co-worker will remain among my most cherished memories.

This makes us wish for the time when war will be no more. (Psalms 46:9, 10; Isaiah 2:4) When earth will be as peaceful as heaven (Matthew 6:9,10) May you be helped through this terrible time and be able to look to a bright future.

To the Family of
LCpl. Niall W. Cotisears
I wish I had the right words to say at this time, but I know there are none. I grieve for the loss of your beloved son and I know that I cannot fathom the pain you must be feeling. Your son will not be forgotten and what he did to help protect our homeland and our freedoms. It was his life that made him a Hero. It was his noble path that made him an American Hero. It was his ultimate sacrifice that made him a Fallen Hero. May God carry him to Heaven on His precious wings and give him a palace to live in. I pray that our Heavenly Father above will grace you with His love, His comfort and His peace. Heaven's Gates now has a new handsome Marine standing guard. Amen.
