As a kid some thirty years ago I went to Sear Point raceway in california and we, the Bolea's saw DA sanucci win that day. DA santucci's father gave me a National dragster magazine with the santucci win in it. Somehow I'll held on to this and I gave it back Mr Santucci. He was so suprised to see it. He sat down and looked at the picture of his son and himself together at the winners circle. May D.A. Santucci rest in peace. God bless (Cousin) Tommy bolea

Boy oh boy those Black Magic cars were slick. I reported on a site many months ago that D.A. was ill after hearing it from Bob Frey. I remember when he almost beat Kenny Bernstein (I think) at the Keystone Nationals a few years back. He ran maybe a 5.69 that wasn't half a car length behind Goliath. That was one fantastic race that sticks with me. My thoughts are with the family, the living remembrance of a fine man.

To the family and friends of D.A.
I did not know him personally, but he is sure part of my memory banks from when I was involved with drag racing. His slick looking cars were always an attraction wherever we were in the country.
Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Never got to meat Dom personally, but did see him race at many east coast tracks years ago. From what I've read here and on various Internet message boards, he was a very friendly and personable gentleman.
We have lost another one.
Rest In Peace, D.A.

D.A. Santucci was one of the most successful long-term drag racers in history, winning events from at least the 1960s through the early 1990s, including the BIG one, the prestigious NHRA Nationals at Indy. His cars were always fast and looked great. I never heard anyone say anything but good things about him. One thing many don't know about D.A. Santucci is that he was one of the first handful of nitro funny cars to achieve 280 miles per hour back in the late '80s. He never had the huge budgets (and maybe didn't even want to tour), but he could run with the best in the business when he wanted to. Our deepest sympathies to D.A.'s family and friends.
