Just received this notice that today is the 15th Anniversary of Gary's passing. A flood of old "Systematics work" thoughts rushed through my head. Those days working with Gary was the start of my professional career and my family start. Gary was a gentle soul who would always help you when you needed helping. I hope these 15 years he has rested peacefully. One funny think that Gary said to me that has stuck all these many years. He was describing his "party" years during college. He told me they called him "Sambuca Yucka"!!! Of course if you aren't a NY'er, you might not know that the "r" in Yucker sounds more like an A! So for my old dear friend and workmate. I hope there is plenty of "Buca" for "Yuca" up there in heaven.... Peace.... Westie

Today marks the 13th anniversary of Gary's passing and he is still in my thoughts and prayers all year. I reminisce with some of my friends and family that knew him and of the friendship we had for many years. He was the Best Man at my wedding, my first daughter's Godfather and the best friend anyone could ever ask for. I remember the fun we had simply playing pool, enjoying a meal or shopping for a car. I only wish he was still here to celebrate these things and more. I miss you always my friend and hope you are happy.

It has been over 9 years since my best friend Gary has been gone. I still think of him often and wonder how life may have been different if he were still here with us. I still find myself laughing at things we both found amusing and wishing we could share those moments once again. I thank him for his love and friendship to me, my wife, my parents and my children and only wish that my grandchildren would have had the opportunity to know and love him like the rest of us did. I feel so far away from him here in North Carolina but the memories of him and his Mom make me feel closer. Recently, I found some old pictures that and I remembered all the good times we had and it made me miss him even more. He was the best friend I ever had and ever will.

I stumbled across this guest book for Gary by accident (don't ask me how or why). I was reading the entries from the people who worked with Gary and the people I grew up working with. I was touched by the memories expressed here. I will add this one, and those of you who worked in DCS can probably relate to this. I remember many a Saturday mornings working at 1 West 39th St, 8th floor when it was just me and Gary working. I would be working on entering the million PCS moves for the day complaining about what I could be doing while Gary was working on a way to make my job easier. He was a really great guy and a true professional. I can't help remembering him when I think back to my old Systematics/RNB Bank days. God bless you Gary, may the memory of your life live on forever. West.

I haven't worked since May of 02, and finally accepted the fact that I am retired, and really don't want to work again. With this in mind, I decided to clean out all my old IBM manuals. Amongst them was one of Gary's. Knowing Gary, you all know he made sure he put his name on the cover as well as on page 41 of any of his manuals. The thing I liked most about this particular manual was that in addition to his name being on the cover and on page 41, as I flipped through the manual, he had also corrected typo's in the manual. How can you ever forget this guy!!!

It has been one month since Gary's passing and I still miss him so much. He sat next to me at work and I still look over and expect him to be there to discuss a problem or just talk about how things are going. I am still thinking about you my friend and hope you are peaceful.

Even if you didn’t know Gary that well, it was evident that he was a kind and caring individual. I believe he was here with us at HSBC to show us that there are more important things in life than those which cause us so much stress. Gary seemed to stroll into the room as if he didn’t have a care in the world. Actually he cared a lot. He always appeared to bring with him a calm and positive attitude. No matter how bad he was feeling, he always had a moment to offer a “good morning” or “how are you” or something sympathetic in order to identify with you. Some people are just passing through this world for the purpose of illustrating God’s goodness and love. Gary, wherever you are, you did good.

I'm so sorry to hear about Gary's passing. I remember Gary during my days at RNBNY and the man was so very nice to me and everyone elsee too. Anything you needed help with, Gary would go way out of his way to assist. I have never seen Gary mad at anyone. He will be missed! I know I will miss him. He was trully a great person.

There is so much to say about a man I really knew very little about. I've known Gary for about 15 years through work. Gary, to me, was kind, generous, caring, patient, funny, extremely smart, organized and methodical. He loved children, new white expensive cars (but never bought one!), pound cake, and got a huge kick out of my turtle.

So many of us went to Gary for answers and he always took the time to answer, and not just a yes or no but an explanation. More often than not, he would come back to you a day or two later and add to what he already told you. He actually took our problems home with him along with his own. Funny thing though, Gary didn't come to many of us with HIS problems.

Don't you just hate that damned 20-20 hindsight??? You truly don't know what you had .... until it's gone.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery, today is a gift, the present. Use it wisely and with love.

I miss him so much.

Gary, we'll all catch up with you one day and be after you once again to explain something... most likely the way things are run up there!!! ;)

The Bible tells us that for everything there is a season, and a time for the very purpose under heaven:

a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

We realize that all these things must happen, but when it happens to someone so loving and caring,

someone who has bring so much laughter into my life - its hard to cope with the loss.

I am happy to have known Gary for more than 16 years. He will be missed.

Gary will be missed, he was a great guy to talk to as I grew up on Oakwood Hills Drive. He help me get interested in the career of Information Technology, not to mention just sitting around and shooting the bull for hours at a time.

I was so sorry to hear about Gary's sudden passing. He was a wonderful man. He lived across from my Grandparents, and I have known him since I was a baby. He was always part of our family parties. He was very helpful to my Grandparents, and generous to my children too. I am sorry they won't get to know him, but am thankful that I did. When I told my husband of Gary's passing, he was shocked and said, "What a shame he was such a nice man." I hope Gary was aware of how many people cared about him. My thoughts go out to his friends and family and neighbors. I'll miss him. May he Rest in Peace.
