Samuel J. Campilii
Samuel J. Campilii, a lifetime resident of Dutchess County, N.Y., died Dec. 29, 2008, at home after a three-year bout with mantle cell lymphoma. Born on Nov. 23, 1929, in Wappingers Falls, N.Y., he was the son of Henry and Angelina (Ranalli) Campilii. After graduating from Manhattan College, New York City, he was employed for 33 years by IBM Corp., Poughkeepsie, N.Y., as an accountant and programs specialist. Retiring in 1990, he became vice president and group tour leader of the Mid-Hudson Valley IBM Retirees. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus Council 1646, Wappingers Falls, and was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order, M.H.V., IBM Retirees Club, and Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity. On Sept. 27, 1958, he married Lorraine Mondrick of Northampton. Survivors: Wife; sons, Paul and Robert Campilii, both of Poughkeepsie, David Campilii and daughter-in-law Janice Gregory of Chepachet, R.I.; daughter, Ann Campilii Lutz and son-in-law Robert Lutz of Clinton Corners; two sisters, Delfina Craft and Linda Giancarlo, and brother, Rudolph Campilii, all of Wappingers Falls; close cousin, Theresa Chepaitis of Hudson, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews. Arrangements: William J. Miller & Sons Funeral Home, Poughkeepsie.
