Leona Molina

Leona Molina Entered into rest peacefully surrounded by her family on September 24, 2004, at her home in San Jose, CA. Born on July 27, 1912, to Maria and Victor Molina in Artesia, New Mexico where she was raised, she was 92. At the age of 51, she moved to San Jose, California with her son Tony Galindo and two daughters, Margaret Alvarez and Martha Reyna and their children. Leona will be remembered as a giving, compassionate, generous, loving, forgiving and kind person. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a great friend to have and she was a great teacher and mentor. She was a unique, special woman with a heart of gold and with so much patience. She helped care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her smile and laughter would brighten your day. She was always willing to lend a hand and would give you her last dollar. She always made everyone feel welcome and treated friends as if they were family. She was a great cook and she loved to bake cakes, bread and much more. Her Stanley parties meant having a big feast. She touched so many lives. She loved listening to music, sewing, singing, dancing and playing the piano. She loved plants and flowers, especially roses.

Leona leaves behind six children, Margaret Alvarez, Tony Galindo, Alfred Leyba, Esther Reyna, Martha Reyna and Lupe Perez, nineteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren with two more on the way, one great-great grandchild and other relatives and friends. She will be especially missed by her grand-daughter and caregiver, Sylvia Martinez.

Family and friends are invited to attend viewing on Thursday, September 30, 2004, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with vigil at 7 p.m. at OAK HILL FUNERAL HOME'S THE CHAPEL OF ROSES, 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose. Funeral Mass on Friday, October 1, 2004, 10 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2040 Nassau Drive, San Jose, CA 95122. Burial will conclude the service at Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose.
