Mildred Whitney Obituary

Mildred B. Whitney TOWNSEND Mildred B. (Ballard) Whitney, 84, of Townsend, a former longtime Framingham resident, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Apple Valey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ayer. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard G. Whitney; three sons, Bruce R. Whitney of Ashland, David B. Whitney of Medway and Craig P. Whitney of Townsend; two daughters, Karen L. Mokszycke of Michigan and Janet W. Riley of Bellingham; and a brother, Welton Ballard of Rockford, IL. She also leaves eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Whitney was born in Lynn, June 25, 1923, the daughter of Welton and Carrie (Cramm) Ballard, and grew up in Lynn. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School and attended Boston University. Following her marriage in 1948, she moved to Framingham, where she resided until 1976, when she moved to Townsend. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Grace Congregational Church in Framingham. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, at Riverside Cemetery, Dudley Road, West Townsend. There are no calling hours. The T.J. Anderson and Son Funeral Home, 250 Main St., Townsend Center, is assisting the family with arrangements. Additional information can be found online at www.andersonfuneral.com.
