Cynthia Green Obituary

Cynthia Condon Green TORRANCE, Calif. Cynthia Anne (Jones) Condon Green passed away Aug. 8, 2008. She was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Providence, R.I., the daughter of the late Arthur and Jeanne Jones. Cynthia graduated from Framingham High School and excelled in academics and sports. Cynthia was involved in it all, from a star in basketball to founder/president of a Frank Sinatra fan club. She and her parents summered in Hope, Maine, where she helped her father with a boys camp on Hobbs Pond. She studied at Rhode Island School of Design. In 1948, she married William H. Condon, and had six children. The family lived in seven states, settling in Phoenix. After she and Bill divorced, she taught swimming, and also worked in management with Revlon and Snelling and Snelling. Later, she met and married Tim Green and moved to Maine. They owned and operated two antique stores, The Red Shed and Antiques At The Beach. Cynthia wrote From the Elm Street for the Belfast Waldo Independent paper. After Tims death, she moved to Tucson, and continued the antique business for 20 years. She loved feeding the wildlife in Tucson. She had a rare eclectic eye and knack for decorating. Her incomparable, sly, quick wit and sense of humor was unforgettable. Cynthia was predeceased by her three sons Kevin, Brian and Tim Condon. She is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Stephanie Jenkins-Turner of Torrance, Calif., Lisa Condon-Leas of Tucson and Tracy Forzetting of Lincolnville, Maine. She also leaves behind six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Cynthia was a unique spirit and will be missed. Memorial services will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Bangor, Maine in the summer of 2009. Memorial donations will be appreciated for her furry friends given to 1-800-628-0028 (www.ASPCA.org).
