Anthony J. Pichnarcik

MARLBOROUGH Anthony J. Pichnarcik, 87, of Marlborough, formerly of Orange, Conn., died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, in Marlborough Hospital. His wife of 60 years, Martina K. (Hoag) Pichnarcik, died two years ago. He was born in Matiasovce, Czechoslovakia, and raised in Meriden, Conn., where he graduated from Meriden High School. He later received his bachelor of science degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Alabama. Mr. Pichnarcik was an aeronautical engineer for Sikorsky (United Technologies) for over 40 years, retiring in 1985. He leaves his daughter, Laurie J. Pichnarcik of Acton, and her husband, John Crossin; a sister,Ceil Lyons of Hamden, Conn., and 11 nephews and nieces. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m., in the Good Shepherd Chapel, 406 Hemenway St., Marlborough. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
