Esther Finney Obituary

WALTHAM Mrs. Esther M. (Ryan) Finney, of Waltham, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at Bolton Manor Nursing Home, Marlborough. Esther celebrated her 100th birthday on March 26 of this year. She was born in Waltham, a daughter of the late John J. and Mary E. (Healey) Ryan, and had been a lifelong resident. Esther graduated from Saint Charles High School in Waltham in 1926. She had been a charter member of Saint Marys Mothers Club in Waltham and had been a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Waltham. The wife of the late Albert J. Finney, she leaves her children, Albert J. Finney Jr. and his wife, Pat, of Longboat Key, Fla., and Elaine M. Anzalone of Hudson; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Esther was also a sister of the late James A. Ryan, John J. Ryan, Alice J. Doucette and Elizabeth F. Doucette. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at 9 a.m., Friday, Sept. 5, from the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St. (Rte. 20), Waltham, followed by a funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church, 133 School St., Waltham, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are today, from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Care Alternatives Hospice, 181 Cedar Hill St., Marlborough, MA 01752.
