Dennis Herbert Cranford

SHREWSBURY Dennis Herbert Cranford, 62, previously of Danvers and formerly of Ipswich, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, after a short battle with cancer, while living with Sean and Krista Weafer, and family, of Shrewsbury Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Gloucester, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Esther Helen (Menken) Cranford II. Besides his good friend, Sean Weafer and family, he is survived by his brothers, Richard J. Cranford of Rockville, Md., Steven W. and his wife, Antoinette "Toni" Cranford and their son, Matthew A. Cranford, all of Silver Springs, Md.; his uncle and aunt, Sumner H. and Muriel Menken of Manchester, N.H. He is also survived by several cousins, Roberta H. Logue of Manchester, Marion E. Adams of Worcester, Paul, Tom and John Menken, all of Manchester, N.H., Michelle Adams of Worcester, Deborah Ingalls of Spencer, Neil Adams of Auburn and Brian Adams of Millbury. He was the brother of the late Benjamin Wesley Cranford III. Visiting hours at the Norton Funeral Home, (www.nortonfuneralhome.com) 53 Beech St., (corner of Union Ave.), Framingham, will be on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be a brief time of remembrance at 6:30 p.m. At the family's request, graveside services will be private and held at a later date.
