Our dear "Mummy Rhoades" was such a blessing to our family! Her genteel manner, her always happy "Cheerio!" "Good work!" and "Oh what fun!", her spark and personality have always been part of cherished memories for me. She shared her love for life, beauty and true adventure with all of us, leaving an inspirational and lasting impression! Rest well, dear friend, until we meet again at our Father's Heavenly home!

Mary was a beloved neighbor in Ithaca, NY back in the 1960s, adored by us & our children, Jim, Ruthie & Rebecca (Chickie). We "inherited" her wonderful black & white cat, Mickey & had her for 10 yrs.. Mary was an early member of the Tompkins Co. Gem & Mineral Club which met at The Paleontological Research Institution in Ithaca. She delighted in the fossils there & in the ones she found. How well I remember Mary, her son & our family standing out in the street one chilly night watching the Aurora Borealis. Sorry we lost track of her for all of 30 some yrs. after we moved away.
Indeed, it was our loss but now we know she sleeps, awaiting the time when Jesus calls her forth on Resurrection day to be evermore with Him & the saints in Heaven.

Mary was a very special person and a lady in the true sense of the word. She was genuinely interested in everyone and everything around her. I feel blessed to have known her and only wish I could have spent more time with her. I hope the gardens are beautiful where she is now.
Fellow ex-pat and gardener.

Mary was a delight to know! We cherish memories of talking with her about flowers, cats and God. Her kindness and genuine interest in others made her a special friend to many. We will miss her but rejoice in knowing she is with the Lord.
