Blanche Canard Obituary

Blanche L. Canard WOONSOCKET, R.I. Blanche L. (Littlefield) Canard, 85, of Woonsocket, R.I., passed away Aug. 28, 2008, in Oakland Grove Health Care Center with her family by her side. Born in Framingham on Jan. 19, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Arthur S. and Phoebe H. (Dykeman) Littlefield. Mrs. Canard was the wife of the late James E. Canard; loving mother of James M. Mike Canard of Upton, Susan G. and her husband, Robert P. Desautels, of Woonsocket, R.I., Albert Clarke of Bossier City, La. and the late Joseph P. Walenta and the late Elizabeth H. Beauregard. She leaves 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister, of Elizabeth Betty Zanella of Ashland. She was a resident of Woonsocket for 25 years, and formerly of Framingham, where she was born and raised. She was a senior clerk of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles for 21 years, until retiring in 1988. Previously, she was a nurse at the former Cushing and Community Hospitals in Framingham. Blanche enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting and going to yard sales. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 7:30 p.m., in Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 South Main St., (Rte. 126), Bellingham. Visiting hours are Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 4 to 7:30 p.m., prior to the funeral service. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
