Suzanne Galipeau Obituary

Suzanne A. Galipeau BELLINGHAM Suzanne A. "Sue" (Berard) Galipeau, age 66, of Bellingham, passed away peacefully, with her husband and family by her side, on Sept. 1, 2008, in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket, R.I. She was the beloved wife of 44 years of Bertrand H. "Bert" Galipeau. She was born in Woonsocket, R.I., on May 16, 1942, daughter of Annette (Gosselin) Berard of Bellingham and the late Raymond Berard. She was the loving mother of Paul A. and his wife, Kelley Galipeau, of Natick, Jeanne A. and her husband, Scott Martin, of Bellingham, Diane G. and her husband, Tom Telicki of Westminster. She was the devoted grandmother of Kevin J. and Kyle S. Martin of Bellingham, Benjamin P., Catherine S. and Henry T. Telicki of Westminster, Julia V. and Jacob O. Galipeau of Natick. She was a lifelong resident of Bellingham and a graduate of Bellingham High School Class of 1960 and Bridgewater State College Class of 1964, receiving her bachelor of science degree in education. She has been a second grade teacher for 32 years, teaching most of her career at South School, Bellingham, and retiring in June 2002. She was a member of the B.T.A. and N.E.A. and M.T.A., a communicant of St. Blaise Church and the former Assumption Church, and a member of the Ladies of St. Ann's Sodality of the parish, founding member of the Lunch Bunch of Bellingham and member of the Red Hat Society of Bellingham. Mr. and Mrs. Galipeau were married July 4, 1964, in Assumption Church. Her funeral will be held Saturday, 9 a.m., from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte. 126), Bellingham, with a Mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m., in St. Blaise Church, 1158 South Main St., Bellingham. Interment will be in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Calling hours are Friday, 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Suzanne A. Galipeau, to: VNS Service of Greater R.I. Hospice Care, 6 Blackstone Valley Place, Suite 515, Lincoln, RI 02865, would be appreciated.

Both of my children had Sue for their teacher and we all loved her very much. I personally spent alot of volunteer time in her classroom as well as photocopied papers for her for 5 years. My condolenscences to her family as she was a very special person. My kids have very fond memories of her.

I had Mrs. Galipeau for my second grade teacher. Although that was approximately 30 years ago - I remember her fondly. She was a great teacher and a beautiful person. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
