Richard Ashcrt Obituary

MILFORD Richard N. Ashcroft Sr., 86, of Milford, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at Blair House of Milford. He was the husband of Lucy (Paradiso) Ashcroft, who died in 2007. He was born in Boston, son of the late Wilbur and Linda (Matott) Ashcroft, and lived in Milford most of his life. Mr. Ashcroft was a World War II Army veteran, and had been employed for many years as a machinist at the former ONeil Machine. He was also employed at the former Telecron in Ashland. After his retirement, he was employed by Rosenfeld Tire Company for many years. Mr. Ashcroft was a past master of Montgomery Lodge, AF& AM of Milford, affiliated member of John Warren Lodge, Mount Lebanon R.A. Chapter, Milford Council R & S Masters, Commandery Post 11, and the Aleppo Temple, Wilmington. Mr. Ashcroft is survived by one son, Richard Ashcroft Jr. of Milford; three daughters, Cassandra Jones of Texas, Marilyn Eldridge of Manchester, N.H., and Lynda Ashcroft of Virginia; two sisters, Ruth Foster of Tennessee, and Georgina Race of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m., in North Purchase Street Cemetery, Milford. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the James E. Kellett and Son Funeral Home, 21 West St., Milford (www.kellettandson.com).
