POWELL, Wyo. Sabatella (Mango) Machietto, 95, of Powell, Wyo., and formerly of Westfield and Upton, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, at home, after a period of declining health. She was the widow of David Machietto, who died in 1995, after 50 years of marriage. Mrs. Machietto was born in Naples, Italy, a daughter of the late Carmino and Vincenza (Avoila) Mango. She came to the United States in infancy and lived in Portland, Maine, until age 12, when the family moved to Upton. She attended the former Framingham Normal School and graduated from Worcester State College. She was an elementary school teacher for more than 40 years, teaching first in Upton and then at the Russell Elementary School in Russell, before retiring in 1985. She lived in Westfield for many years before returning to Upton and recently moved to Wyoming to live with her daughter. She was a communicant of Holy Angels Church in Upton and a member of the Upton Woman's Club. She leaves one daughter, Jo-Ann Marquis and her husband, David, and a sister, Rose Mango, all of Powell; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of Angelina Anderson, formerly of Upton, who died in 2004, and had five brothers who pre-deceased her. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 21, from Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton, with a funeral Mass, at 10 a.m., in Holy Angels Church. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton. A calling hour at the funeral home will be prior to the Mass, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., Friday.
