Frank Ray Vinyard, Sr.
1930 ~ 2008
RAYVILLE, LA – Memorial services for Frank Ray Vinyard, Sr., age 78, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel in Rayville, with Rev. Bill Lovett and the Masonic Relief Lodge officiating. Mr. Vinyard passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2008 in Monroe. Mr.
Vinyard was a member of the Zebedee Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Rayville High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was the first mayor in Marina, CA and active in California politics. He and his late wife, Audie Vinyard owned Audie's Flowers and Gifts in Rayville. He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons for over 30 years, the Scottish Rite, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Clary of Rayville; wife, Audie B. Vinyard; and son, Larry Vinyard.
He is survived by his sons, Ray Biggs and wife, Pam of Rayville, and F.R. "Bud" Vinyard, Jr. of Rayville; grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob Biggs of Rayville; and an adopted daughter-in-law, Jamie Parker.
Visitation will be held at Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Friday, February 22, 2008 from 6 PM until 9 PM.
