WILLIAM S. VAN BENTHUYSEN
AGE: 67 FARMINGDALE
William S. Van Benthuysen, 67, of Farmingdale, NJ, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Ocean Medical Center at Brick. He was born in Neptune and lived in Farmingdale and Point Pleasant. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during Vietnam. Mr. Van Benthuysen received his Electrical Engineering Degree from Trenton State College. Mr. Van Benthuysen was a member of the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club and an avid motorcycle, airplane and train enthusiast. He worked at the Lakehurst Naval Base for over 20 years.
Predeceased by his father, Seth, in 1978. He is survived by his son, Michael Van Benthuysen of Bronson, FL; his mother, Anne Layton, of Farmingdale, NJ; a brother, Terry Van Benthuysen, of Pt. Pleasant, NJ, a niece, Terri Van Benthuysen of Fruitland Park, FL. and a dear friend Darla Kelly of Brick, NJ.
Visiting at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp., NJ on Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale, NJ.

You and Bill were so blessed in the time you had together. I came to realize that the man I first met was not the man I came to know. You not only changed him but he changed you and it was so good to see the love you had for each other. He was a welcomed addition to our family and will be missed. We love you.
