RICHARD E. SNYDER
AGE: 77 SOUTH RIVER
Richard E. Snyder passed away after a courageous battle with cancer Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Care One Nursing Home, Holmdel. Mr. Snyder was 77 years of age. Born in Dunkirk, NY, he resided in South River for 50 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and proudly served on USS Haynsworth DD 700 during the Korean War. Mr. Snyder was a communicant of St. Mary's Mt. Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Richard was a supervisor for AT&T in Piscataway for over 40 years. He was a member of VFW Post 1451 in South River and was an avid bowler.
He was predeceased by his wife, Iris V. (Cicchi) Snyder who died in 2007. He is survived by his two sons, Richard K. Snyder of Bloomsbury and Mark J. Snyder of South River; his grandchildren, Iris Esposito and her husband James of South River, Alfred Snyder of Plainsboro and Robert Snyder of South River; and his great grandchildren, Gianna, Vincent, Adrianna Esposito, Donavin and Jayden Snyder. He is also survived by his good friend, Ann Marie Vetricin.
Funeral service will be private under the direction of the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Rd. in East Brunswick. Burial will be at the Washington Monumental Cemetery in South River.
