Jacob Gagnon Obituary
MYRTLE BEACH | Jacob ''Jake'' Alexander-Lee Gagnon, 5, of Myrtle Beach, passed away, Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Jake was born May 1, 2003 in Conway, and was the son of George ''Coach'' Gagnon and Michelle Hall-Gagnon.
Surviving in addition to his parents are paternal grandmother, Geraldine ''Gigi'' Tuttle of Myrtle Beach; maternal grandparents, Dr. Alvin ''Papa'' Hall and Cherie ''Cece'' Hall of Conway, and Nancy ''Meme'' Hall of Conway; five uncles, David, Chaco and Marc Hall, and Bill Smith and Jeff Tuttle; three aunts, Renee ''Nana'' Hall, Carolyn Smith and Terri Tuttle; numerous cousins, both local and abroad; and many special friends and caregivers.
Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2008 in Carolina Forest Community Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 4 until 6 p.m., at the church .
Jake's courage and love for life and exuberant personality made him truly one of a kind. Everyday was an adventure for Jake, living life to the fullest, exploring every opportunity to play, meet new people and express himself relentlessly. However, the most important thing to remember is how he lived his life and loved everything and everyone he touched.

Today marks 14 long painful years that you left us here to run ahead to heaven. So many of our loved ones , family & close friends have joined you over those years . My mommy s heart will NEVER be truly healed until you are forever in my arms again. I MISS EVERYTHING about you. I can't help but wonder who you would be today had you lived ? What you would look like ? I know you are ALWAYS with me. I feel you Jake . Please continue to hold my hand & help me through this "life" . Jake is in our thoughts every day. When we see a butterfly we talk to Jake. So many years have passed but the memory of Jake has not. Our sons Association with coastal Carolina University is in Jakes´s name. Prayers are with Jakes family on this upcoming day. Every coastal football game we look over at Jakes Memorial.

I can't believe in a few days it will make 13 years since you went on to heaven w/out me. oh how I miss you so much Jake. A lot of your favorite people have joined you over the past few years I know you are very happy to have them with you again. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you that I don't long to hold you in my arms to smell you to kiss that beautiful face of yours. I miss your laughter and the joy that you brought to me every single moment of every day. I'm trying hard baby to go on. To live the best life that I can for you to honor you. I really want to make you proud. I know that you hold my hand everyday when I wake up in the mornings and you're right there beside me when I lay down at night. Enjoy playing with all the Angel Children in Heaven Jake. You were a sweet kind sharing big hearted boy !! Jesus wanted an above average boy angel to come help him with the other angel children so he picked you. You can run and paly with all the other children now. You were such a Blessing to so many. It's been almost three years and a day doesn't go by that you're not in our thoughts. Everytime we see a butterfly we know it's you. You brought so much joy into our lives and it is sadly missed but we WILL see you again someday. I look at your pictures everyday and can't believe you're not here but you remain strongly in each one of our family's hearts. Georgie is at Coastal and we pray he can make you proud. We love and miss you. Miss Linda struggles everyday at school without you but your memory keeps her strong. It was our blessing to have met and know you. Someday we will make that tent. I think about you Jake, day by day. I went to school with you, I was in the fifth grade grade went god took you back up. You changed my perspective on parts of life, and I will always carry little things you said with me. You were just a little boy and I was just a little girl. but when I think of elementary school, I think of you. I think of your enthusiasm about everything. I think so many more people need the enthusiasm you did. I think and remember us building Lego towers every other day when I got to come see you in the class room. There are no words to express the depth of our sorrow. Mimi, you were like another daughter to me and I was so excited when you two were finally able to conceive. (remember when we took you to Ripley's Believe It Or Not & rubbed you both on the fertility gods?) I always looked forward to receiving new pictures of Jake. He was so dear. I know the last 5 years have been filled with lots of love, laughter and anguish too. Jake went through so much, as did you all. It's so hard to see our children in pain and not be able to help. All of us at the International Primate Protection League will miss our dear little friend Jake who visited our gibbons and dogs in Summerville and had a deep love for animals. He would visit with Nancy and Michelle and learned to sing like a gibbon. Our Newfoundland dog North has a special love for the fragile and never left Jake's side during his visits. I have lost friends and family throughout my life, but none has affected me as much as losing our "Little Guy". He was such an inspiration to everyone that knew him, so courageous and strong. Many times when I had a problem, I would think of Jake, and all that he faced, how he dealt with the hand that was dealt to him, and my troubles seemed so trivial. I will never forget the good times we had going to ball games, or just hanging out playing with the pirate ships and the race track. I had the honor of knowing Jake through PBE. My daughter and I got to spend lots of time with Jake during the summer while he was at Paula's. He will be missed. Jake was a great storyteller. I am so sorry for your lose. I did not know you but knew little Jake. I meet him while visiting Linda and George Warriner. He was always smiling. He was the coolest little boy.

We only met Jake this year through the Miracle Baseball League. He was a beautiful boy with a cherub face that always had a smile on it. We looked forward weekly to his singing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame"! We will always think of Jake whenever we hear that song. He will truly be missed by all from the Miracle League. Jake was a very special young man and I feel very blessed to have been given the opportunity to help care for him at Shriners Hospital. All of our children are special but there are a few that just touch your heart in a special way. Jake touched mine with his smile, his courage, and his strength.

Jake, you were an inspiration to hundreds of fans at the Pelican baseball stadium-I remenber when I first met you and not to long thereafter you became a friend to many stadium employees and fans. Every time you came through the frony gate with your dad. I would tell everyone "here comes my buddy". Last year it was a privilege to get to know Jake while he was in Pre-K with my daughter at Forestbrook Elementary. Although they did not share the same kindergarten teacher this year, we would still see Jake during our morning “drop off” time. I could be having the worst possible morning but after getting to class or seeing Jake in the hallway and speaking with him I couldn’t help but always leave with a smile on my face (even when I didn’t always want to). Being a ray of sunshine, he always brought laughter, love and happiness into the lives of others. He has touched my family and we will always hold a special place in our hearts for him. Jake taught us to live each day no matter what obstacles were in our path. My mother (LuLu) will always remember giving Jake the ride on her motorized scooter at Broadway at the Beach during their IMAX field trip day and having the time to read to him in the Pre-K class. Our condolences and prayers are with you and your family during this most difficult time as there is no greater loss then that of a child. Heaven is a much better place now as they received an angel. Jake will be missed but he certainly will NEVER be forgotten.

Your "Jake" touched many lives both young and old. Our time on Earth is so uncertain that we always have to make the most of it. Jake was no exception. He always made me laugh and sing. "Take Me out to The Ballgame" is one of my favorite songs. Now he can play ball with my brother Wesley and run free in the boundlessness of God's Kingdom.

We've watched Jake play in the Miracle league games and will miss him dearly. I can still hear him telling jokes and singing "Take me out to the ball game". He was a sweet boy and will be missed.
