Ethel Caldwell Obituary

Ethel Caldwell (Popplestone-Shaw) 06/16/1916 ~ 09/03/2010 SOLANA BEACH -- Ethel was born in Detroit, Michigan. She is survived by husband, Howard of Solana Beach, Calif; son, Kenneth Shaw (Nena) of Indian River, Mich.; two grandchildren, Michelle Johns (Edwin) of Belleville, Mich., and Michael Shaw (Shanna) of Attica, N.Y.; two great-grandchildren, Christal and Brandon Johns; sister, Gwendolyn Royston of Grand Rapids, Mich.; sister-in-law, Nancy Popplestone of Macomb, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews. Ethel is also survived by her extended family consisting of Ken and Linda Caldwell of Cerritos, Calif., and their family, Aaron Caldwell, Corrina (Tim) Sullivan; Craig Wheatcroft (Beverly. dec.), and their family, Kyle (Wendy) Wheatcroft and Logan, Alissa (Mike) Ullrich, Derek Wheatcroft, and Rochelle Wheatcroft. She was preceded in death by husband, Gordon T. Shaw; brothers, Donald Popplestone and Howard Popplestone. We will always remember her wisdom, kindness, and the love she had for her entire family and friends, but most of all, by the love of Jesus, her Savior. Ethel will be laid out after 4 p.m.on Monday, Sept.13th at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside. Service will also be at Eternal Hills on Tues., Sept. 14th at 1 p.m. followed by graveside service. Pastor Doug Baker will officiate. This was the Dearest and most God-like woman I know. She was very Special to myself and my husband. She was there on the day I was born, she never stopped sharing her Love for Christ and his people, and I knew she was always close by, If only in Memories!!
