Lillian Tinling Obituary

Lillian Merithew Tinling, 94 VISTA -- Lillian Merithew Tinling was born July 15, 1916 and passed away peacefully in her home, Saturday, September 4, 2010. A fourth generation Californian, and a resident of Vista since the early 1960's, she was born in Los Angeles, and spent much of her childhood in Phoenix, Ariz. She attended Art Center in Los Angeles in the 1930s, where she met her husband, Dallas. She was predeceased by her husband, Dallas; and her sister, Doris. She is survived by her six children: daughters, Ann, Katherine, Nancy and Bonny, and sons, John and Steven; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was an accomplished artist, and enjoyed Square and Round dancing. Lillian and Dallas traveled often to attend local, regional and national dance events. Diminutive in stature but giant in spirit, she leaves behind a legacy of love of the natural world, kindness, joy, and compassion. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com
