Rose was my mother-in-law for twenty years and always had her children's best interest at heart--even if it were at a personal cost to her. She loved her grandchildren and wanted only the best for all of them. We have fond memories of days at Rose and Jack's home--going to the beach and eating her mint chocolate chip ice cream pie. Rose always reminded me of Snow White--her beautiful smoothe complexion, black hair and ruby red lips. We enjoyed Rose and Jack's visits to our home. We were able to celebrate birthdays and holidays together and some inbetween times. Rose loved fall colors especially orange. She also enjoyed Christmas and all the activities around it.

My friend gave a rose bush to our family to plant in memory of Rose. She would have loved it. We have it planted in the front of our home by the porch. I have already looked at it many times and thought of Rose. Thank you to all who have remembered us and our family members. Her passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts. We are sad she is gone from us--it is our loss and heaven's gain.

Dear Gary and family,
Just knowing Rose was "there" at her place made me happy. Now I feel lonely knowing she is not there. I miss her a lot! I know it is worse for you (all of you) but I know she would not come back now even if she could!

My Dearest Karen and family,
I am so sad to hear of the passing of Rose. I know how much she was loved, especially by John. She actually passed at a very blessed time, Rosh Hashana. May she rest in peace and may her passing be a blessing so that she may spend the rest of eternity in peace.

Rose was such a sweet, kind person. I always enjoyed being around her. She had a great sense of humor. We always had a wonderful comedic connection which enhanced my life greatly. I am a much better person for having known her.

I'm lighting a candle for my sweet step mother, Rose. I thank her for the love and joy she brought to my dad's life.

I send my condolences to Jack and all family members.

Although I did not know Rose personally, my husband, Jim van Oppen, always spoke highly of her in his many stories about growing up in Gardena in the years just before World War II.
