Wayne Lee Beighley

Wayne Lee Beighley LAKE SAN MARCOS -- Wayne Lee Beighley, born June 13, 1927 in Billings, Montana, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Lake San Marcos, Calif. He will be dearly missed by those whose own lives were graced by him: his beloved wife, Betty; son, Casey; daughter-in-law, Kari; sister, Mary Carpenter; nephew, Bill Carpenter; and nieces, Patti and Kathy. A veteran of WWII, Wayne exemplified the Norman Rockwell values and virtues of "America's Greatest Generation." He was a devoted husband to his first wife, Jane, for 40 years until her death in 1996. He appreciated fatherhood and family and extended those eternal values to his second marriage to Betty and her grown and growing family: children, Larry, John, Tom, and Pam Wilhelms, respective daughter-in-laws; six adult grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Faithful to citizenship, church, and family, Wayne also contributed to the body of American culture with his 30 year membership in the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Singing in America. Active in Barbershop Quartets since 1980, he was a disciplined and practiced musician. He was a long time member of the Palomar Pacific Music Men's Choir. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 25, at the Village Community Presbyterian Church, 6225 Paseo Delicias, Rancho Santa Fe.
