Radyn Howe Obituary

Radyn A. Howe, 84 ESCONDIDO -- Radyn A. Howe passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010. She was born in Terry, Montana on May 22, 1926, the only child of William and Wilma Hakanson. She was raised by her mother's sister and husband, Iva and Paul Arndt. In addition to living in Montana, she lived in Washington, Nebraska, and California, the last 48 years in Escondido. She was married to James W. Howe for 41 years, until he died in 1986. She had been a homemaker for many years, but worked part- time in her son and daughter-in-law's accounting practice for 20 years before retiring just three ago. She was an active member of the Carlsbad Genealogy Society for over 25 years. In her spare time, she crocheted afghans for charities, the homeless, and all of her family members. She was loved by many and her passing leaves a huge void. Her family misses her terribly, but they know she is now away from the pain and illness of the last few years, and is with her loving husband. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Howe and wife, Nancy of Las Vegas, Nev., and Ken Howe and wife, Karen of San Marcos, Calif.; daughter, Cheryl Mullett and husband, Vince of Oceanside, Calif.; grandchildren, Steve Howe, Scott Howe, Mike Howe, Greg Howe, Doug Howe, Melissa Howe, Keith Mullett, Cheri Marquardt, Tristi Mullett, and Stephanie Mendez; great-grandchildren, Zachary Howe, Christian Howe, Michael Howe, Kayla Howe, Kaleigh Howe, Kendall Howe, Kyle Howe, Kaden Howe, Toni Masterson, Devon Marquardt, Tori Marquardt, Isabella Mendez, and Nicolas Mendez; and great-great- grandchild, Lilly Masterson. By her own request, no services are planned and upon cremation, she will join her husband at sea. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com
