To the family of Stanley Jersey, I would like to say how much I have enjoyed reading his book Hell's Islands. It is evident that he devoted a huge effort to researching and writing this book, and I hope that he was able to enjoy the compliments and praise that must have come following its publication. It still reads very well, and is a major source book for those, like me, who have an interest in the War in the Pacific. I have a question about his research, and would very much like to speak with family, if that is possible. Many thanks, and warm regards from Spokane. Robert

Just read Stanley's book, Hell's Islands. Well done. Wish I could have met the author. Thank you for writing about Gavutu, Tanambogo, Tulagi, and Guadalcanal. My father fought on all 4 islands and is mentioned several times in the book. Semper fi to Stanley and may he rest in peace.

Sadly to find a dear friend for many years in an obituary. I lived in Del Mar, Ca, then and we met often in meetings and stamp shows.
