Joyce Marie Ashe DEL MAR -- Joyce Marie Ashe, a long time resident of Del Mar, Calif., passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 surrounded by her family. Joyce is survived by her four children and ten grandchildren. Joyce was a fun and adventurous soul who loved life and was moving "full-on" unto the end. One of her neighbors described her as a boundless spirit full of joy. Thus Joyce was aptly named and spread her joy freely with many. Joyce was a real estate agent in Del Mar for over 30 years. She fostered many long term relationships. Many of her clients became loved members of our extended family. Her great joys included: music of all sorts, the theater, cooking, reading, art, extensive world travel, enjoying her young neighbors and gathering with friends and family. She made all welcome in her home with her warm hospitality and loved a good party. She traveled the world to view solar eclipses, to witness the beauty of the aurora borealis. She saw whales mating at Scammon's lagoon and witnessed killer whales, grizzly bears, salmon, otters and eagles while cruising in Alaska. She loved the many wonders of the USA. It is fair to say she enjoyed as many as 40 of our 50 states. She slept under the stars, in tents, in vans, as well as staying in world class hotels. She was flexible and adaptable....that coupled with her bright smile and infectious laughter made her a quick friend wherever she went. Joyce raised four successful, independent children. Joyce was a daughter, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was a registered nurse, realtor, and the best unlicensed counselor you could find. She forgave freely and truly forgot the transgression. She generously shared her wealth in whatever form that took; her word was her bond and she was generous with praise. When the times got tough she relaxed into the flow knowing that resistance was futile and was also aware....This Too Shall Pass. Joyce was a light to those in her life and community and now she continues to be an even brighter light in spirit. Joyce was well loved..she will be missed and fondly remembered.
