Veronica Sisler Obituary

Veronica Ann Sisler LA COSTA -- Veronica Ann Sisler RAF (nee Bruce), peacefully passed away at her home in La Costa attended by her loving children, Gary, Shirley, and dearest friend, Mrs. Kay Burbage of Surry, England, early Friday, September 24, 2010. Born on the Gold Coast of Africa on September 22, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Geo. Edward Bruce RN and the late Margret Teresa Murphy of Belfast, Ireland. Conscripted into service at the beginning of WWII, Veronica served in the Royal Air Force until the war's end. She met and married Mayo S. Sisler of East Brunswick, N.J. and arrived as a war bride in the US to raise her family. Joining her beloved parents, Veronica was preceded by her son, Michael Sisler of Somerset N.J.; brother, Mr. Alan Bruce of Bridgewater, N.J.; and sister, Mrs. Winifred Kelly of Stoke-on-Trent, England. She is survived by seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous friends, both here and abroad who will surely miss her love, kindness and beautiful voice. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 29th at 12:30 p.m. at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Oceanside. She has requested in lieu of flowers, she be remembered through the charity and good works of St. Paul's Senior Home and Services or Father Joe's Villages, both of San Diego.
