Chuck Driscoll Obituary

Chuck Driscoll, 82 TEMECULA / MURRIETA -- Charles Leo (Chuck) Driscoll, a longtime resident of Temecula and Murrieta, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010, after a short battle with cancer. Chuck moved to the Glenoak Hills area of Temecula in 1974 with his wife, Bettie, who would become a well- known local artist before passing away herself in 1996. Chuck and Bettie lived on a 3.5-acre orange grove, and Chuck's mother and stepfather, Sue and Philip Best, lived a short distance away in Glenoak Hills until their deaths. Chuck and Bettie owned Driscoll's Art Studio on Front Street for several years. Chuck relocated to Murrieta Hot Springs in 2000. He was a native of Wichita, Kan., and had lived in Compton and Anaheim before moving to the Temecula Valley. He worked for Northrop Corp. and also had his own ornamental iron business. A World War II veteran of the Merchant Marine, Chuck was an ardent, lifelong enthusiast of military history. He is survived by his children, Monette Branson and Stephen Driscoll of Rialto, and Venisa Kascsak of Cleveland, Ohio; stepson, Michael Schuerman of San Diego; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Interment at Temecula Cemetery will take place in a private graveside service. Friends wishing to remember Chuck are asked to make a donation in his name to a favorite charity.
