Harold J.E. Deibert

Harold J.E. Deibert OCEANSIDE -- Harold J.E. Deibert, Sr. (Capt.Retired), was born December 22, 1932 in Washington DC. Harold is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jane (Piazza) Deibert of 54 years. He was the father of Sharon (Sam) Williamson, Harold J.E (Paula), Deibert, Jr; and Cathe (Tom) Baird. Harold loved his grandchildren, Sara Williamson (Sean) Lyon, Christina Deibert (Regan) Kubicek, Shawna Williamson, Patrick, Kimberly and Victoria Wisdom; great-grandaughter, Cambria Lyon; and step- grandchildren, Bradley and Carissa Baird. He was loved and respected by many nieces and nephews. Harold was the eldest brother of four brothers and a sister. He was preceded in death by his parents; his youngest brother; and his son, Army MSG Harold J.E Deibert, Jr. Harold graduated from Morehead High School, Morehead City, North Carolina in 1951. While in high school, he was scouted and offered to pitch for the NY Giants. He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps 1951. Harold's military service extended from 1951 - 1972. His service included tours of deployment to Korea and Vietnam. He became a Drill Instructor at MCRD, San Diego. He was commissioned as Captain 1969. Harold enjoyed traveling with his wife. He took proud interest in the involvement in his grandchildren's academic and athletic endeavors. Known for his strength and strong Christian morals, Harold deeply loved his family and his platoon. He instilled in his children and family a sense of principles and respect for all people. He will be deeply missed by all whom he touched.
