Linda Fouste Obituary

Linda Anna Fouste 1949 ~ 2010 ESCONDIDO -- Linda Anna Fouste passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 after a long and valiant struggle with renal failure. She is survived by her son, Jim Fouste; daughter, Christina Martin; niece, Lieta Maffei; nephew, John Maffei; as well as five other nieces and nephews and many beloved cousins and friends. Linda was born the third of three daughters in Queens, New York to Gaspare and Lieta Occhiuzzo. She grew up on Long Island and spent her summers with her niece and best friend, Lieta. At the age of 14, her family relocated to Chula Vista where she attended Chula Vista High School. In 1966, Linda married Bob Fouste, and in 1967 they had their first born son, Clint, shortly followed by a second son, Jim. In 1977, she gave birth to her third child, Christina. While raising her family, she worked for years for an insurance agency and as a construction office manager to help support the household and also successfully graduated with degree in Cosmetology. Later in life, Linda rediscovered her artistic talent while taking classes at a local college. Her pastel portraits are treasured by her children. Taken from us too soon, with her self sacrificing love, she had the heart of an artist and the soul of a dancer. Linda loved her way through life and family and friends alike will miss her more than mere language can express. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com

Thank you, Linda, for the gift you gave me - our children, Clint, Jim and Christina. They are my most treasured possessions.

And to the family of Linda, I am so sorry for your loss.

Linda, like her father before her, was such a driving life force for so many and she will be greatly missed by all.

To Christina and Jimmy and the rest of the family - I will always remember Linda and treasure the memories I have of her and all of us at the Esco house. She never kicked us out when we were being obnoxious teenagers (well, almost never...haha)...and some of us really needed that safe haven of creativity and art to be ourselves in. Linda, I know you have found peace and I know you are watching over your children now. Those who loved you will always remember your beauty and will always hold you in their hearts.

I love you mom. Thank you for treating me like one of your own. Thank you for always taking an interest in me and what was going on in my life. Thank you for never giving up on yourself, or your children. They appreciate you more than you'll ever know. I miss you, and our quiet talks over coffee. I miss your cooking, and your kindness, and your gentle way. I hope you found your way to paradise, and I hope you're surrounded by warm clear-blue water, swaying palm trees, white sand, and many friends and loved ones. I know you're looking down on all of us now, prepared to guide us through the next stages of our lives and the twists ad turns of the future. Rest assured that you've given your children all the tools that they need to succeed in life. I love you mom, and I will miss you dearly.
