Jack Dale Obituary

Jack S. Dale, 83 VISTA-- Jack S. Dale of Vista, California, died suddenly Thursday, October 21, 2010. He was born in Caro, Michigan on September 11, 1927, and graduated from Redford High School just outside of Detroit, Michigan. He served his country as a participant in the occupational forces after World War II after which, as a career, Jack was employed for 42 years by the Detroit Edison Company. Upon retiring, he and his wife at the time, Marion Dale, moved to California in 1989 to be close to their three children: Allison, Jeff, and Andria. After the loss of Marion in 1997, he remarried in March of 2001 to Charlotte (Douglas) Dale and enjoyed the remaining years welcomed and loved by her, his newly extended family of her five adult children; Mike, Steve, Beth, Cathy, Jim; their spouses, children and grandchildren. Jack was a treasured member of his church, San Marcos Lutheran, and lent his voice to the church's adult choir. He was also involved with local area chorales and was an avid bowler until his passing. A memorial service was held the evening of Monday, October 25, 2010 at San Marcos Lutheran Church, 3419 Grand Avenue, San Marcos, CA 92078. In lieu of flowers, donations made in his memory to the church he loved so much would be greatly appreciated. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com

He was my moms brother and when my mom passed away at a very young age at only 44 years. He sang the hymn “The old rugged cross” I have not heard that song done any better he had a very nice astute voice every time we are in church and I hear that song it reminds me of him and it send chills within me, We lost touch after he moved to California but I will always remember him as very nice and a real good sense of humor. I knew him as Uncle Jack

We will miss Jack at our family gatherings. He had a wry sense of humor that we enjoyed. He had a wonderful voice and we most fondly remember Jack & Lottie singing a duet of "ABBA DABBA HONEYMOON" to our grandson Dustin. To all the Douglas and Dale family we are truly sorry for your loss.

I am saddened to hear of Mr. Dale's passing. He was such a delight to see and we appreciated his warm smile and hysterical sense of humor. He will be missed by all of us!

Legally he may have been my Step Dad. But in my mind the word step was not part of it. He was a man's man, he made Mom happy and treated her like a Queen. He will be truly missed.
