Mildred D. Brewster ESCONDIDO -- Mildred Delphine Brewster passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010. She was born March 10, 1919 in Struthers, Ohio, the youngest of nine children of John Joseph and Mary Repasky Pekarcik. Following her graduation from Secretarial College, she began working as a secretary at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. It was through her carpool that she met her future husband, Leo Brewster. Married on September 26, 1953, they settled in Dayton. Two years after the birth of their only child, Amy, they relocated to Glendale, California where they lived until 1995. During their time in Glendale, Millie worked as school secretary at Incarnation, the Catholic elementary school Amy attended, and later as a secretary for 17 years for the Phillip Morris Company, retiring in 1984. Eleven years later, Millie and Leo moved to Escondido to be closer to their grandchildren. Millie was an active member of The Church of St. Timothy, the Women of St. Timothy, and supported husband Leo's involvement in the Knights of Columbus, the International Order of the Alhambra, and family genealogy. Millie was dedicated to creating and mailing 30 to 40 monthly birthday and anniversary cards to family members across the country to keep in contact with all the relatives. Described as a kind and caring person, Millie will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Millie is survived by husband, Leo Brewster of Escondido; older sister, Josephine Pekarcik Gonda, age 96, of Youngstown, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Amy Brewster and Jeff Parrott, formerly of Poway but now of San Diego; granddaughters, Laura, Kate and Michelle Parrott; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 31, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary in Escondido, with the Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 1, at The Church of St. Timothy in Escondido. The Committal will follow at 3 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Millie's name to The Church of St. Timothy, the
